Yes. Ensure the distance university you are willing to pursue is recognised by UGC and other boards to run the institution. If an non-UGC accredited gives you seat and certification after the course it might not be valid to pursue higher studies and the value of the certification will not gain you any job opportunities. Do some research about the college you want to do your distance course in.

The duration will be 2-years only for PGDM programme. If I talk about the fee structure, the fact is that it varies from one college to another.
Best colleges for operations is NITIE and SIOM so I would suggest going for these colleges if you are really inclined towards operations.

Evening or distance engineering courses are not valid anymore as per the latest Supreme Court verdict, hence would recommend you to join regular B.Tech course for better career prospects.
