No, CUSAT closes at very high rank. At most, it goes upto 3000 rank. You better start searching for better options.

If 26500 is your general rank, then you can choose NIT Jamshedpur for Mechanical engineering or if it is your OBC rank, then it is a little bit difficult for getting mech at NIT.

It is not at all necessary if you got a good rank from COMEDK under 5k. The fee varies for every college in COMEDK so in total, you have to pay initially 1.75-.2.25 lakhs depending on which college you opt for including DD that you have to pay in COMEDK.
