AMC doesn't has it's own formula for calculating CGPA as it comes under VTU, Hence it follows whatever formula is provided by the VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University). VTU has an absolute grading system in which the marks are converted to grades, and the results for each semester will be declared with semester grade point average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) printed on the marks card. Computation of CGPA is as follows
final CGPA= Sum total of all SGPA/Total credits of all the subjects.

IIIT Kottayam employs a standardized grading system that provides a fair and transparent assessment of students' academic performance. The institute follows a ten-point grading scale, where each grade represents a specific range of percentage scores. If it is a valid reason such as medical emergency then you will definitely get a second chance to attempt the exam with a different set of questions. But if the reason is invalid then probably they might not give a second chance. And you will have to score the average marks in the remaining 2 internals.

This is a bit of a critical situation considering that you have failed an exam, But faculty members might consider giving a second chance after you fail to get an average in the internals (after attending all the three internals). But before finalizing the internal marks they will get in touch with the students and ask for the reason due to which they failed, then they will decide whether to give re-exam based on the reason provided. If it is medical or any valid reason then you will definitely get a second chance.
