It will be tough for someone with a 62k overall rank and 18k OBC rank in JEE Mains 2024 to get CSE in the high ranking NITs or IITs. Though you can expect some chances at lower NITs or GFTIs in branches of CSE or allied disciplines other than the main stream (like IT or software). The NITs that you are referring to the likes of NIT Agartala, NIT Sikkim or the more recent ones should be able to provide CSE reservation under OBC. As for GFTIs, the likes of IIITDM Kurnool, Assam University, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology etc. could be tried. For more understanding, keep a watch on the JoSAA counselling.

No, IITs in India only offer MSc degrees related to technology and research. If you want to get admission to an IIT, you can go for courses like MSc in Applied Geology, MSc in Applied Geophysics, MSc in Biotechnology, MSc in Chemistry, etc.

Name change in 12th does not affect JEE IIT college admission, if you carry necessary proof of that name. If Name is not updated in 10th and 12 mark sheets-Legal affidavit for change of name during application & at time of admission. This affidavit, along with a gazette notification (if applicable) or newspaper publication will be an evidence for your name change. After you do this, make sure all your documents right from JEE application have the new name and nothing confuses during verification process.

If you have all your documentation in place, changing the name post-Class 12th will not cause any issues for admissions at JEE-accepting colleges. For applying to JEE after a name change, use your new names as in the affidavit when you fill up the application form for JEE. Upload name change affidavit and gazette notification / newspaper publication (if any) Attach the affidavit during admissions, along with certificates of class 10th and class 12 provided your old name. It is done to maintain the consistency and making this you can avoid any trouble at getting your documents verified.
