Yes, and this is one of the most important things every BDS aspirant in UP must know. Admission to BDS colleges in UP is conducted exclusively through NEET. NEET exam is mandatory for all government and private colleges. After clearing NEET, students must participate in either the UP NEET counselling or the All India Counselling process depending on whether they are applying for state-quota or All India quota seats. There is no alternative route to BDS admission in UP.

NEET UG is widely accepted for govt. and deemed universities. MET for Manipal and exams by CMC Vellore, Amrita, SRMJEEH are conducted by institutions. Nursing councils of individual states conduct state level exams. Many colleges conduct merit admission based on Class 12 marks. Hence, even with a low NEET score students can secure admission through various other opportunities.

While NEET UG is widely accepted and required for government colleges and most deemed universities, many private nursing colleges also offer admission based on their own institutional entrance exams or merit in Class 12. Many colleges accept students on merit basis and through entrance exams other than NEET. Students who could not score well in NEET can still find good private colleges through institutional exams like MET, SRMJEEH, and state-level nursing council exams.
