IIT Bombay BTech cutoff 2026 ranged between 60 and 2624 in Round 1 for the General AI category. As per the closing ranks, the top two most competitive BTech branches were Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering with competitive Round 1 closing ranks of 60 and 279, respectively. IIT Bombday JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 has been released for admission to the BTech and BS courses. The round 1 cutoff for the General AI category ranged from 65 to 7099, with BTech CSE and B.Tech. in Environmental Science and Engineering being the most difficult engineering branches for admission.
Overall, the least competitive course in the first round was B.S. in Chemistry, with the cutoff of 7099 for the General AI quota. See the table below for the round 1 cutoff for all other courses.

Admission to the BS programme is based on JEE Main, JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA Counselling. Candidates are admitted to the course based on performance in the counselling. In addition, the seats are also allotted depending upon the seats available for the specialisation, category of the candidate, and cutoff.

The institute offers BS in three specialisations, including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Admission to all the BS specialisations at IIT Bombay is entrance-based (JEE Main + JEE Advanced). The seat intake varies from one specialisation to another. Additionally, all the courses are of a four-year duration.

Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements, which is have passed Class 12 with 75% aggregate in PCM. The eligible students can fill out the application form for JEE Main on the NTA official website. Further, students who clear JEE Advanced need to take part in JoSAA counselling during which the seat allotment is carried out.

The IIT Bombay JAM cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to the MSc course across multiple specialisations. During the Round 1 cutoff list, the closing ranks ranged between 13 and 616, with Biotechnology having the most stringent cutoff rank for admission. With lenient first-round closing ranks of 17 and 30, candidates can also choose MSc specialsiations, such as Applied Geology and Mathematics, respectively, for admission. IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi accept the UCEED exam for B.Des admission, wherein IIT Bombay offers B.Des via its centre called Industrial Design Centre (IDC) and IIT Delhi offers a B.Des course via its own campus. For 2026, the first round of UCEED cutoff rank was 14 for B.Des admission at IIT Bombay. For IIT Delhi, the cutoff rank was 28. So, considering the ranks, IIT Bombay is the most competitive among the aspirants for B.Des admission as compared to IIT Delhi.
