The institute offers BS in three specialisations, including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Admission to all the BS specialisations at IIT Bombay is entrance-based (JEE Main + JEE Advanced). The seat intake varies from one specialisation to another. Additionally, all the courses are of a four-year duration.

Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements, which is have passed Class 12 with 75% aggregate in PCM. The eligible students can fill out the application form for JEE Main on the NTA official website. Further, students who clear JEE Advanced need to take part in JoSAA counselling during which the seat allotment is carried out.

The IIT Bombay JAM cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to the MSc course across multiple specialisations. During the Round 1 cutoff list, the closing ranks ranged between 13 and 616, with Biotechnology having the most stringent cutoff rank for admission. With lenient first-round closing ranks of 17 and 30, candidates can also choose MSc specialsiations, such as Applied Geology and Mathematics, respectively, for admission. For 2026, the last round of UCEED had the closing rank of 16 for BDes admission at IIT Bombay. For IIT Delhi, the cutoff rank was 28. So, considering the ranks, IIT Bombay is the most competitive college among BDes aspirtants as compared to IIT Delhi.
Both, IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi accept the UCEED exam for BDes course admission, wherein IIT Bombay offers BDes via its centre called Industrial Design Centre (IDC) and IIT Delhi offers a BDes course via its own campus.

IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay accept the UCEED exam for B.Des admission. However, IIT Delhi offers a B.Des course via its own campus, and IIT Bombay offers a full-time B.Des course via its centre called the Industrial Design Centre (IDC).
During the UCEED cutoff 2026, the IIT Delhi admission was closed at a cutoff rank of 28. For IIT Bombay, the admission was closed at 14 for the General AI category students.
