Having a KCET rank under 10k is a promising achievement, and it opens up various options for pursuing engineering in reputed colleges. If you are considering dropping a year for IIT JEE, assess your confidence in your preparation and your dedication to improving your rank significantly. Dropping a year can be a strategic move if you are confident in your ability to secure a high rank in IIT JEE. According to the CSAB 2023 special round cutoff for OBC category, the closing rank for BTech Computer Science and Engineering at Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute was 75,4324.

Therefore, with a 78k OBC rank in JEE Main, you may have a low chance of getting admission to BTech Computer Science and Engineering at Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute.

However, you may have a better chance of getting admission to other branches such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, etc. as they may have lower cutoffs.

In order to get admission in UG courses at DSU University, a candidate must either clear JEE, Karnataka CET, COMEDK, or Uni-GAUGE in order to avail a seat in the college through online or offline counseling after the announcement of the result of the respective entrance exams. One can also apply for the DSAT exam that is conducted by the college itself to get admission into an undergraduate co

I don't think that JEE entrance exam is necessary to join Central university of Himachal Pradesh. Either you have not appeared for JEE, you can join Central university of Himachal Pradesh by appearing in the Central university of Himachal Pradesh entrance exam named CUET-UG and CUET-PG. After appearing for the entrance exam, results are declared and then you can take admission. Depending upon the score you can join Central university of Himachal Pradesh. And you can also get admission through reserved categories like SC, ST, EWS, PWD, etc.
