No, your candidature will be rejected as you need to have minimum of 75% in class 12 to be eligible for admisison to the IITs, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs via the JoSAA counselling. Even if you pass JEE Advanced and JEE Main, of you do not have 75% minimum marks in class 12 boards you will no get admissions.

No, one does not have to apply separately at IIT Madras website after JoSAA counselling. This is because the institute follows a common admission process for its BTech course just like the other IITs. Shortlisted students who get a seat through the JoSAA counselling, simply need to report for document verification and pay the acceptance fees. All the details of the students will be forwarded to IIT Madras by JoSAA directly. Information about the orientation, fee payment, and hostel allocation will be mailed online.

However, with a 92 percentile, you can still expect to gain admission to several NITs that have slightly lower cutoffs such as NIT Agartala, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Srinagar, and other newer or mid-tier NITs. Admission is also possible to some Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) and mid-ranked IIITs

Yes, you are eligible to register for JoSAA counselling even if you are not eligible for JEE Advanced. Your 31 percentile and 30,000 rank in ST category allow you to participate in JoSAA, although the chances of getting top NITs may be low. You may have a better chance in NITs from the North-East or in less competitive branches. Make sure to list all available options during choice filling and consider state-level options too.

For JoSAA counselling, the eligibility criterion for OBC-NCL (Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, specifically for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, is generally sixty-five percent in their 12th standard or being in the top twenty percentile of their respective qualifying examination board. The seventy-five percent criterion is typically for General and EWS category candidates, or for admission to IITs for all categories. So, for OBC-NCL, it is indeed the sixty-five percent mark, ensuring a slightly more accessible pathway into these institutions. Always double-check the latest JoSAA information brochure for any m
