It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Students should apply for JoSAA conselling only if they fulfill all conditions of eligibility. However many institutes admit students on basis of JEE Main where there is no requirement of minimum marks in class 12.

To be eligible for JoSAA counselling in 2026, candidates must fulfil certain conditions. This includes getting a rank in either JEE Main 2026 Paper-1 or the JEE Advanced 2026 exams. Minimum grades or percentage requirements for grade 12 exams also apply. A minimum of 75% is required for general category candidates, while a minimum of 65% is required for SC, ST and PwD candidates.
Also, you can be in the top 20% based on your 12th standard. In addition, JoSAA participating institutes may have their own eligibility criteria for specific programs. Nationality requirements include Indian citizenship or meeting special criteria for foreigner

As per JoSAA, it is clearly mentioned that you are eligible for JEE advanced and Mains if you have 75 % from any recognised board. Hence you are eligible as you have 76%.
