JoSAA conducts multiple rounds of counselling, and you can participate in subsequent rounds to try and get allotted a seat in the participating institute of your choice. If you still do not get a seat during the regular rounds of JoSAA counselling, you can apply for the special round. The special round is the final round of counselling, where vacant seats are filled based on the availability of seats.

Yes, it is very possible that a candidate's name appears on more than one rank list. It depends on the candidate's category and physical disability status, along with his or her performance in the entrance exam. It is important to note that the counselling process is based on the candidate's All India Rank (AIR) or Common Rank List (CRL) as per the respective rank list. The counselling process follows the order of priority of the rank lists, which is specified by JoSAA.
