Lateral entry

I am afraid your dream is not going to come true. This is so since Maharashtra along with many other states restrict admission for engineering colleges for first year at well as for lateral entry for the students who are domicile of that state. You are doing diploma from a college in West Bengal and it seems that you must be domicile of West Bengal. Hence for you to get admission in a government college is next to impossible. You need to look for getting admission only in West Bengal. However, for detailed information I would suggest you to visit the website of directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra and download their information brochure for lateral admission.

There are two ways to join as a lateral entry student:
1. After Diploma, you can apply through counseling, which will be conducted at Alagappa Chettiyar University, Karaikudi. Counseling call depends on your Diploma final year percentage. If you received a call for the first day counseling or topped with a rank of at least below 10, you're almost have a chance to get a seat at PSG Tech. Your final year percentage should be more than 96 if you're a general category applicant. For BC/MBC it should be more than 94%. For SCA/SC/ST more than 92 is enough.
2. Throw' management quota. Fees for this entry may depends on the branch of engineering. It may varies from 5 to 10lakh Rupees donation. Other state students can join with PSG Tech throw' this quota. Applications for lateral entry admissions will be issued at all Government engineering colleges in all districts. During mid of May month application issue starts. For SC/ST student's application is free if you submit attested copy of your community certificate. This admission is applicable for all engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu.
