No, government engineering college has no entry through management quota. To enter Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, you have to get a good rank in JELET (for lateral entry) or WBJEE.

Yes, there is an option of lateral entry in the second year after Diploma.

Yes, you are eligible to get lateral admission in engineering after the completion of your Diploma. How you got admission is of no relevance. What matters is how much marks you have obtained in Diploma.

Yes, diploma students of any branch can get admission directly into the second year. You can get lateral entry into VJTI or any other college in Mumbai and Pune.

For admission to the second year (lateral entry) of B.Tech, the candidate must have passed three years Diploma in Engineering course securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% (35% for SC/ST) marks in mathematics.
