Yes, almost every state offers lateral entry in 2nd year of engineering for those, who have done Diploma. You will have to appear for entrance exam conducted for this purpose.

PEC University Chandigarh does not have provision for Lateral entry admission in B.Tech.

For lateral entry 10 % seats of total seats are reserved for lateral entry students. For that you have to appear in LEET exam and get a good rank.

There are lateral entry exam at state levels through which you can get admission. Few of the universities are Manipal, Thapar, Jay per, Anna, etc. Search about LEET 2017 and you will get all information.
