For lateral entry you should have diploma in that stream which you want to opt in B.Tech.
BIT's is very well reputed collage you should get very good marks to get admission in BIT's.

Most colleges have a different provision for admission. You need to contact the institute officials personally for specific admission details as it differs from one college to another.

Sumit, last date for applying this year is over which means you need to drop this year.
Dropping an year is not advisable. Better would be apply for admission to some good university.
Most of the private universities these days offer you admission either on basis of LEET or direct admission on the basis of your marks in Diploma. They offer world class environment to students along with good placements. Some even offer good scholarships to students. Check their websites.
