Internships for SRMU Law Students

Official/Structured Internships

• SRMU's law curriculum includes internships as part of practical legal training (along with moot courts and court visits) to give students exposure to real legal work environments. The Institute of Legal Studies mentions internships in law firms and legal practice settings. 

• The placement and training cell supports students with industry internships, often arranged through the university's connections, plus field visits and workshops. 

Legal Associations & Legal Work Exposure

• Law students typically pursue internships with law firms, corporate legal departments, courts, NGOs, and government legal services to gain hands‑on experience. Such opportunities are in line with legal education practice across Indian law schools. 

Reality/Student Experience

• Several students report that on‑campus internship opportunities are limited or selective, with eligibility sometimes tied to academic performance (CGPA). Many students seek off‑campus internships on their own as well. 

• There are also reports of spam or scam internship emails, so verifying opportunities with faculty before applying is important.
