NIT Meghalaya is among the newly established NITs in the northeast region. It managed to secure 72nd under engineering category. As for its placement, NIT Meghalaya concluded the 2023 placement session with199 job offers. The NIT Meghalaya average package and the highest package stood at INR 11.10 LPA and INR 32 LPA, respectively. Additionally, the lowest package offered was INR 3.6 LPA. Over 60 companies participated in NIT Meghalaya placements 2023, including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Deloitte, etc.

The total fee for the BTech programme at NIT Meghalaya is INR 5 lakh, Total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year 2022-23, hence is indicative. ST/SC & PH students are fully exempted from paying tuition fees, while the most economically backward students (whose family income is less than Rs.1.00 Lacs per annum) are granted full remission of the tuition fee. Other economically backward students, whose family income falls between Rs.1.00 to 5.00 Lacs per annum, are granted a remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.

NIT Meghalaya offers BTech programmes with a duration of four years. BTech programme at NIT Meghalaya is offered in provides five specialisations for the BTech programme, which include Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. The eligibility criteria for the BTech specialisations includes tweleve years of shcool education with 75% aggregate. National entrance exams is the source of admission for the BTech programme.

The placements in CS and ECE department are very good with the highest package reaching to 55 lacs per annum. Regarding the security NIT Meghalaya has good security as I have seen in my stay here.

Yes, as per the rules of national institutes of technology in NIT meghalaya also have certain seat reservation for different categories-
1- 50% seats are reserved for students beliongs from that state that is state quota . so those people passing from meghalya will get benifit of this.
2- Categories quota is also there for different categories like SC/ST/OBC.
