Dissatisfied by the food in the mess & transportation facilities, placements are not up to the mark.

Placements: 70 percentage of the students were placed. In NIT Meghalaya, the highest package was 19.45 Lacs per annum, the lowest was 6 Lacs per annum, and the average was 8 Lacs per annum. Top companies like BPCL, HPCL, Vedanta, and Tata do visit for placements. 90 percentage of students get internships from respective companies. Manufacturing engineer, thermal engineer, and designer roles are offered in our course.

Infrastructure: Campus shifting will take place this December as it’s confirmed officially now. Wi-Fi is good, labs and classrooms are so nice in the permanent campus. Hostel rooms in our new campus are nice. The library is too small but enough for the students count here. Food is bad, and sports and games are fine.

Faculty: Faculty are helpful, but not everyone is knowledgeable. The teaching quality is not up to the mark; it’s not enough for higher studies entrance examinations. No, they won’t give you everything, and the course curriculum doesn’t include everything from GATE and all entrance examinations. Semester exams are of medium level, and the pass percentage is 90 percent. They mostly give 60 percent from the teaching lectures and modules.

Other: You can get central jobs, PSUs, and core jobs from this course. Real-time experience would be nice. A fest happens for every sem, but the crowd is too less.

I would recommend students to join this college.

Placements: Placements are quite good. If I talk about percentage, nearly 90-95% of students get placed branch-wise. The highest placement record is in the CSE department. The maximum salary package offered is 50 LPA, and the minimum salary package offered is around 7 LPA - 8 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges between 10 LPA and 11 LPA. In case of mechanical, all students are placed here. The average salary package offered varies from 7 LPA to 7.5 LPA, and the highest salary package you can get in PSU is 20 LPA. There are 5-6 seats in PSU.

Infrastructure: Currently, we are operating from Shillong, and it is a temporary campus. Our campus is average so the college life is not that good. Hostels are far from college and are average. All the hostels are at different places and are not good. Even the quality of food served is the worst. You can't enjoy hostel life but from batch'23 we are shifting to permanent campus, so then it will be good.

Faculty: Professors are very good and helpful. You can contact them at any point. The curriculum is not that hard and one can pass even by studying for one day grading is relative so it's easy to pass. Easily you can get good marks of 8 CGPA which is enough from a NIT.

Good academic performance, better placements, enjoy clubs and fests but on a small level.

Placements: All the students who secured a CGPA of 7 and above are placed. In the 7th semester, 50% of students were placed. The highest package is 12 lakh and the lowest is 5 lakh. Companies hiring are Jindal, Cairn, Vedanta and Psu like BEL BPCL and IGL and there are several others.

Infrastructure: If you want to build your academic career, this place is for you. If you want to have a big campus where you want to do all other things, you may not like it. Every lab equipment is available. Hostels are not inside the campus however a new campus is being built which will be functional in 2025. Hostels are owned by the college.

Faculty: Students are less in number so the overall experience is good. Passing is not a big deal. However, you must secure 30 out of 100 in end term exam. Teachers are excellent but they focus more on your higher studies and promote you to do so. Rarely 1-2 students ever fail.

Absolutely satisfied for me.

Placements: Top recruitment for B.Tech mechanical engineering department like Vedanta, Tata lower, Power grid, L&T, etc. Almost 50 percent of the students got an internship in companies like IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISC Bangalore, IISC Kolkata. The average package offer in our course is 15000-100000.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available all the time and the laboratory is also good and well organised. Library is also available with all kind of books in different departments. Hostel facilities is almost fine. Wi-Fi is also available. The mess is good.

Faculty: Teacher in our college are good and helpful for us. Teaching is nice and they are well experienced in different fields.

Other: I chose this course because I'm really interested in learning machine design. I wish to get a chance to work practically on machines so that it can improve and increase my knowledge.

Our college is in top position among new NITs.

Placements: Currently, I am in the 3rd year. Most of our seniors (80-90%) who are in the final year got placed in the corporate field. This time, the companies came to the college are Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, L&T Construction, L&T Power, Vedanta Aluminum Power, Flour Daniel, Denso, Infosys, Cummins, Bosch, Wipro, L&T Information, SKF India Limited, Microsoft and Math Works Limited.

Infrastructure: Now, our college is functioning on the temporary campus. But, the college administration provides everything. Sports are enhanced. The college campus has Wi-Fi facility, even all the hostels. Food provided is healthy. New Design innovative centres are opened. The students are doing innovative projects.

Faculty: Our faculty members are highly qualified from the various reputed institutes. They are knowledgeable. Our college organises industrial visits for students. The course is decided from the perspective of a competitive exam.

Other: In each semester, technical and cultural fests are organised. The international conferences are organised. Sports are conducted.

A brief description of NIT Meghalaya and its faculty, placements and infrastructure.

Placements: The placements are increasing year by year, and are very good especially for mechanical students. Overall, maximum all students were placed in the final year. A very responsive T&P head and team cell for calling various HRs of various companies are present. Companies all over India will be coming here to take students into their company and thereby placing students.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure inside the campus is a little bit small, but our college provides separate hostels outside the campus, but nearby with proper arrangement of everything including food, etc. Everything will be clean and tidy and maintained in a proper way.

Faculty: The faculty over here are very talented and always supportive of all students. They help equally for toppers as well as other students. Thr courses are made in such a way that students are not stressed much and can read peacefully daily without any difficulty.

Good faculty members good infrastructure good placements overall satisfied with the NIT tag?

Placements: In my course 95% students are placed in this passing year with the highest package of 20 Lac and average of 10 Lac and the lowest of my course is 5 lac Top recruiting companies for my course are well popular PSU? S like Indian oil Hindustan petroleum BHEL BEL etc. Since my course is mechanical engineering so you can? T much expect the internship in this course So the percent fall upto 40 only The roles that are offered in my course are Assistant Juniors engineers in various PSU.

Infrastructure: My department had all types of top notch facilities for our study which include big workshops area for our practical, Wi-Fi in while campus, Labs are there for everything like engine part chess part body part and classroom are well-equipped with all the necessary furniture and a smart board for our study Library is also there open all day in week but with specific timings Now coming to the hostel part the hostel is very good and clean all students are provided with separtared chair table lockers table fans etc.

Faculty: The teachers are well qualified having Ph.D. in their respective subjects and are very supportive and kind full to help students The teaching quality is good as tbey teach us with the help of smart methods interacting video and pic for our Better understanding of the topic The course curriculum is relevant as in the course we are taught with the practical of things which make us industry ready The semester exam are easy if you only read professor notes and what they teach in class you van score good in exams As of know only 1 student get back.

It is a very good college. I suggest you visit here once.

Placements: Placements were good for mechanical engineering this year. Companies like Vedanta, Tata lower, Power Grid, L&T, etc., visited the campus. About more than 50 companies have visited VIT. The average salary package offered was of 5.5 LPA. I hope it will be even better in the next year.

Infrastructure: NIT Meghalaya does not have good infrastructure because it does not have a permanent campus. They provide a limited space in a temporary campus, but here we have all the important machine tools, and there is a lot of things to learn. As an engineer here, you will dedicate your maximum time in doing practical and experiments rather than just reading theories.

Faculty: Faculty members are very dedicated, and they want students to give all the knowledge what they have. They try to do their best, and they can, and even though they are not satisfied by themselves. Here the number of faculty members are more than the number of students. We have specialist facilities for every subject.
