The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test is required for graduate admission at the University of Iowa for international students. For some programs, the GRE test score is not required for admission nor at any point during the program, but can strengthen your application for admission and scholarship eligibility.

The University of Iowa reviews the application as they receive it. So the sooner international students apply for U of Iowa admissions the sooner they with receive the applicaion decisions. The university can take around 4 weeks to get back to you with an admission decision. The communication will be sent through an email.

International students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 to get admission at the University of Iowa. According to Iowa admission report, the Median GPA for class of 2027 is 3.83 on a scale of 4.0.
