Once you Clear UGC NET you are eligible to be a lecturer of that opted subject in any of the Indian university. With the legal announcement of the Supreme Court, UGC NET/CSIR-NET-JRF has been made compulsory requirement for appointment as a lecturer in Indian universities. This is the job opportunity NET is offering you. Besides this, you can start research under any guide, with a decent amount of fellowship. Once you clear NET, you will be awarded the certificate. As per now, UGC provides E Certificate for NET ( If you are qualified for JRF, you will be asked to send details like PG mark list). After getting Certificate, you can use it as the usual one and its the duty of employer to login to the UGCs website and confirm your eligibility. I know this answer may be bit clumsy, sorry for that and hope this may have helped someone a bit.

Eligibility for Admission to B.Ed course :-A pass in the graduate degree examination under the 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern with main subject in Part III, namely Tamil (B.A., B.Lit.), English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Bio-chemistry, Environmental Science, Micro-Biology, History and Geography.
Admission will be made after written entrance examination.
In accordance with NCTE norms, regular teachers working in primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary schools in Tamil Nadu, recognized by State / Central government, with a minimum of two years teaching experience are only eligible.
