UGC NET exam is conducted for 84 different subjects including sociology. To be eligible for NET exam, you should complete Masters degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks (5% relaxation available for other than general category). The UGC NET Exam is conducted every year in the month of June and December. The December month exam dates are out, the exam is from 18th Dec to 22nd Dec 2018. Now if we talk about the eligibility of the candidates for the UGC NET Exam- https://www.eduncle.com/cbse-ugc-net-exam then the candidates completed the Masters or post-graduation in the subject with atleast 55 % marks must apply for the National Eligibility Test (50% marks for the reserved category candidates).
There is no age limit for the UGC NET Exam in lectureship. But to apply for the JRF Fellowship there is an age limit. The targeted score you need for the JRF Philos

Candidate should possess B.Ed degree with at least 55% aggregate of marks with 2 years of teaching experience. Only working teachers are eligible for admission to M.Ed programme. For details, you can see its official website: http://www.ignou.ac.in/ignou/aboutignou/school/soe/programmes/detail/71/2
