To provide equal education opportunities to students, Madras University and many other government and non-government universities increase and decrease the seat intake. Madras University is ranked 14th by The Week 2023 under the University (Overall) category. Hence, the increase or decrease in seats has not much impacted the quality of education the university offers. To increase the quality of education, the university is trying to arrange guest lectures and workshops for students.
