To be considered for admission to postgraduate Diploma programs, candidates must first confirm that they meet the prerequisites. A UG Diploma, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent from the University of Madras, or from any other university deemed to be equivalent, is required for eligibility.

Candidate have to provide requisites as mentioned there 10+2+3 or equivalent exam results from recognised institutes. Madras University MBA admission is based on candidates' performance in TANCET. To secure a seat in MBA course at Madras University, candidates are required to qualify TANCET exam. Currently, Madras University admission 2024 application window is closed for PhD. However, the university starts its application window in the months of December, March, June and September. The upcoming application window is March. Candidates can visit the university's official website around the same period to apply for the course.
