You no longer have much hope to get into an AKTU (UPTAC) college if you are at rank 446,228 in JEE Main 2025 so you can apply in the lower rung of the college segment of your favorite B.Tech course which is Civil Engineering at the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. So your prospects are as follows:Cutoff Trends of AKTU civil engineeringTop and Govt colleges (IET Lucknow, HBTU Kanpur, KNIT Sultanpur, BIET Jhansi, MMMUT Gorakhpur:The closing ranks of Civil Engineering in such bodies is usually less than 100,000-sometimes between 20,000 and 70,000 (both, general and reserved).Other Private Institutes:The empty seats in many of the AKTU-member private colleges are way lower than the merit list. In the case of Civil Engineering, closing ranks in excess of 100,000- and in some tendency up to several lakhs, constitute the cases. Even with CRL of 446,228, you might find yourself getting an admission in few less preferable private colleges because of the number of seats and the lack of popularity of this branch compared to many other branches such as CSE / ECE etc. What You can ExpectYou do not get any chance of making it into government or the best institutes with regular round of Civil Engineering as cut off is way more there. In special/spot round or main round you might be allotted a seat in less known/familiar private colleges that are affiliated to AKTU- some seats in the second or subsequent rounds are normally given away on the basis of reservation of the seat at lower rounds. When filling the list, make sure you add as many existing private colleges as possible in your counselling so that you are lucky to win a place.Checking Accurate Cutoff/Colleges HowGo to the UPTAC cutoff web-site:visit the uptac.admissions.nic.in and select or-cr, select year, round, course (B.Tech Civil Engineering), and category to get the desired college-wise closing ranks of both the current year and past years.Always verify seat allotment and cut off ranks after each round of counselling- the cut offs are likely to be lowered during in the spot/ special rounds.Practical StepsParticipate in all rounds of UPTAC counselling, and don't lose hope if not allotted in early rounds.Filling maximum choices of private colleges increases the chance of getting admission in Civil Engineering.Monitor the special/spot rounds closely, as these rounds often relax cutoffs and fill remaining seats at much lower ranks.
