AMU Courses and Fee 2024: Admission, Application, Entrance & Eligibility

Faculty of Law AMU offers 240 seats in the BA LLB program. 120 of these seats are available in AMU Aligarh, and the remaining seats are available in the AMU centers at Malappuram and Murshidabad. If you wish to join the Faculty of Law at Aligarh Muslim University as a student, you neeed to fulfill certain eligibility criterions, which are as follows:-

• You must have cleared the Senior Secondary Examination (12th) with aggregate 50& marks from any recognised board like CBSE, UP Board etc./ any university.
• Even if you do not fulfill the above criteria, AMU offers a Bridge Course to cover the gap between the students conforming the first eligibility criteria and the students who have not secured 50% marks in 10+2.
• Age Criteria: Your age should not be more than 22 years as of 1st July at the time of respective year of admission.
• If you are a Deeni Madrasis graduate who must need to complete  the bridge course offeredv by AMU with a minimum of 50% score.

The Faculty of Law, AMU is located in Uttar Pradesh India. It offers courses like BA LLB (Bachelor's in Arts with Bachelors in Law) and LLM Programme (Master of Laws). If we assess the costs to be incured for studying this courses; it is found that the total fees for the 5-year BALLB Programme at AMU is INR 1,01,6,720 and for the 2-year LLM Programme is INR 4.1 lakhs, The fees amount only includes the course fees and not the fess  need to be paid at the time of admission neither the hostel fees. The application fee for the 2023 BALLB programme is INR 700 without late fees and INR 1000 with late fees. The registration fee for the 2023 BALLB programme is INR 900, with an additional INR 300 late fee. So it can be inferred that the faculty of Law, AMU is pretty costly for students belonging from middle-class families.

AMU BA LLB entrance exam is easy for those who have a good knowledge of GK and current affairs, basic understanding of logical reasoning and a good command in english.

The AMU application form for admission to BA LLB 2024 batch are not released yet. In 2023, the AMU Entrance exam forms were released in the month of feb and the entrance exam for admission to AMU BA LLB took place in March. 

Therefore, based on previous year's schedule, the AMU BA LLB application form are expected to release in the second week of Feb 2024. 

During 2022 placements, 181 out of 219 BA LLB students were placed. Earlier, 179 out of 219 students were placed during 2021 placements. For LLM, 10 out of 35 were placed during 2022 placements. In 2021, 7 out of 35 LLM students were placed. AMU Entrance Exam 2026 will be conducted for B.A. LL.B. Course admission. The law entrance exam will be held in Aligarh, Kozhikode (Kerala), Kolkata (WB). The exam was held at AMU test centres located in seven cities across India I. e. Aligarh (UP), Srinagar (J&K), Lucknow (UP)Patna (Bihar), Kolkata (WB), Khanapara (Meghalaya), and Kozhikode (Kerala). For the department tests, the exam centre will be in Aligarh only. To secure admission in the BA LLB course of Aligarh Muslim University, the first thing an aspirant should check is the eligibility criteria, followed by registering their candidature for admission.

Candidates who have passed class 12 or equivalent from a recognised institute with a minimum of 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for the AMU BA LLB course.

The complete process to apply for AMU BA LLB is mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of Aligarh Muslim University

Step 2: Click on the "Admission/ Exams" available on the taskbar

Step 3: On the redirected page go to the Admission menu> General Admission> Application forms> Signup

Step 4: Enter all the required details and generate a username and password

Step 5: Login using the username and password generated, and upload the required documents

Step 6: Pay the required application fee and click on submit.

In terms of placements, AMU has maintained a good record for Law courses. As per the NIRF report 2023, the highest median package offered during 2022 placements was INR 12.30 LPA and was made to BA LLB students.
