Great learning experience, faculty and facilities.
Placements: I am a student from the first batch of our course - Moving Image. Therefore, I cannot tell much about placements yet, as I am still in my 3rd year. But we have brilliant faculty coming in, many of them who are pass-outs from NID and have a good name in their field of work. We have good amounts of field work and hands-on experience that really help us to understand what the industry will be like. We are very well encouraged to go with our ideas and our faculty and professors are always there to support us, while giving us very valid constructive criticism. We have also worked with a few companies as freelancers briefly as a team. This has helped us gain experience while learning, and provided a holistic form of learning.
Infrastructure: In our department, we have fully functioning sets of Macs with all necessary applications to edit and work smoothly with our films or projects. We have a sound room for recording audios. We also have lights, cameras, and mics as equipment.
In our hostel, we have a great atmosphere and vibe, everyone is friendly and warm and welcoming. There is extra workspace (two) to work within the hostel, after college. We have a grocery for basic items and snacks. We have an indoor playing room as well to play table tennis and chess. We also have a laundry system where we give clothes, and we get it back washed and ironed. In terms of food, it is mostly good. They rotate menus every month according to concerns we raise. Incase on any issue, we have notified them and it has always been resolved.
Faculty: Yes, our faculty has always been helpful. The teaching quality in our university is really good, be it permanent faculty or visiting faculty.
Yes, the course curriculum covers a wide array of subjects and is relevant. It is also improved as per the current times.
The juries are challenging and exciting, and it is usually vibrant and filled with really interesting ideas and works of students.
