B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2026
Offered by Alagappa Chettiar Government College of Engineering and Technology

Review of Alagappa Chettiar Government College of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: 80 to 85% of students get placed every year in our college. The highest salary package offered may be 25 LPA, and the lowest would be 10 to 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Zoho, Teach Mahindra, Wipro, etc. Design engineer, production engineer, and software engineer roles were offered in my course.
Infrastructure: College has high-quality facilities. Labs, classrooms, and libraries are available. Hostel range is medium, and our hostels have a mess where you can eat your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also, it has a dispensary for students. Our college has all sports teams available.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly professional and knowledgeable. They are helpful to students. The course curriculum is relevant as well as useful for industrial operations. If you study well, semesters are easy to crack. The pass percentage would be 80 to 85%.
Other: I chose Mechanical Engineering because I love automobiles. In this course, you can learn about the theoretical knowledge of how an automobile works. There is no need for improvement at all. There are many more clubs and events hosted every year in this college, like culturals, sports day, etc.

B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2025
Offered by Velammal Institute of Technology
4.4

The college provides good placements and training.
Placements: Placement training was good, and core companies approached frequently. Regular aptitude and coding tests were conducted, and mock interviews were guided by seniors. Alumni meets were also conducted. Both IT and core companies were frequently visited, but main campus students were given priority.
Infrastructure: The courses were good, but labs were average and not very well maintained. Library books were very limited. Hostels were good, and bus transportation was also good. Department symposiums were organized every year. Hostel food and canteen food were good but limited in variety. The focus was mainly on exams and studies. Extracurricular activities were not encouraged much. They were conducted mostly for formality.
Faculty: Velammal was mainly focused on studies. Coaching was very good. Top performers were awarded cash prizes. Students who failed in exams were given coaching, and re-exams were conducted. The curriculum was under Anna University. Faculty teaching was very good. The pass percentage in regular exams was above 65/100. The semester pass mark was above 35/100, excluding internal marks. Internal marks depended on regular exam scores.
Other: For studies and placement, Velammal Institute of Technology was well recommended, but a high-level campus life and events could not be expected. Clubs and events were very limited. The campus was small, and networking clubs were very limited.

The college experience could be better.
Placements: Some of the students got placed, mostly in IT companies. Core job opportunities were not as many as expected. Most placements are in IT companies, and core jobs are limited.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is good but does not always work properly. Classrooms are fine but strict. The canteen is good, but students cannot sit there for more than 10 minutes.
Faculty: Some staff members are good, but not all the staff are the same.
Other: The college can be good. The infrastructure can be improved, and they are working on it, but it is not clear how much improvement has been made. Dare yourself to join, and if you can survive here, you are qualified in all aspects. The college is okay and may be value for money if you can adjust.

A story begins now in Saveetha Engineering College. I hope it feels good.
Placements: I think about 97 percent of students got placed on the banners & flex shows. Recruiting companies are Qualcomm, Amazon, and Infosys for computer-based courses. Not an idea about internship right now. The college looks like a well-active placement cell and seniors face tests of soft & coding skills every time.
Infrastructure: There are well-equipped labs surrounded with noise-protection glasses. The hostel has two parts, one is new with fully AC rooms and another is mixed up of AC & Non-AC rooms. The hostel is cleanly maintained by crowd members. Mess with full AC dining, with North people catering service is available. Medical and technical facilities are available for 24/7 service. Sports are well supported for hostel students.
Faculty: Faculty members are very friendly on and off-campus. The curriculum is fast, and I learned new things because it is flexible learning. Exams are conducted every 45 days. 90 days are split into 45 and 45. One is called skill-based courses, and another one is called foundation-based courses.
Other: All about the TNEA counselling matters choice the college suddenly. It's good that AIML is a developing field now. Every class we should change the classrooms and be committed to new learners. Clubs are active and seniors are easy to connect with. They provide merit scholarship, I entered with 7.5 reservation quota under TNEA.

I would say my college is above average and good to join.
Placements: Software testing, software development, cloud computing, etc. All students holding above 60% are placed with good packages. Internships and courses are mandatory to complete during semester holidays.
Infrastructure: To be honest, the food and hostel infrastructure are average. Everyone may not be able to adapt easily. It can be a bit difficult, so I would not prefer the hostel and mess food. However, it relates to some of them who have the same taste of food at their house and enjoy it. Non-teaching, housekeeping staff are friendly.
Faculty: All faculty members, including the teaching staff and the Head of Department, are friendly. They encourage students to share their thoughts freely. The difficulty of exams depends on the question paper. But according to me, it is easy and good. Scholarships are provided based on 12th percentage, and NCC is also available.

Good faculty, decent placements, strong infrastructure, and the best learning environment.
Placements: I am pursuing IT from this college. Around 80% of students get placed. The highest package is 47 LPA, the average package is 6–8 LPA, and the lowest package is 1.2 LPA. Top companies like Wipro, Microsoft, Cognizant, HCLTech, Amazon, Juspay, and Autodesk visit our college for recruitment.
Infrastructure: The department is well-equipped. It has computer labs, smart classrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a library with good resources. The hostel is clean. The mess provides food for both teaching staff and students. It has a synthetic playground, sports courts, a gym, and all the required infrastructure.
Faculty: Teachers are very qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. The teaching quality is good and includes both life lessons and theoretical concepts. They also teach the practical part of learning. The pass percentage is around 80–90% as scoring marks in college are easy.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in technology and programming. The best thing about this course is that it provides coding opportunities, good salary packages, and strong placements. The college conducts various fests and events, though not as many as some other colleges.
