The faculty is quite good. There is poor infrastructure in terms of lab equipment and funding.
Placements: A total of 50 students are placed in our course. The highest is Rs. 40,000 per month, and the lowest is Rs. 20,000 per month. No companies visit the college to recruit students. Zero students get interships. There are bioinformatics experts. From my course, one can do biotechnology, cell Biology research, and any other field of Science. Overall, it has a lot of scope.
Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library are in good condition. The quality of food is somewhat average. Medical facilities are good. Sports and games have two stadiums, indoor and outdoor. Canteen food is good. 24x7 medical facilities are available here. University buses are also available here.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, but they should not fully get the funds to do proper research. The course curriculum is relevant to CSIR NET but not industry-ready. Here, industry-based curriculum is not included, so there is no scope. Exams are quite difficult but not bad. The pass percentage is approximately 90%.
Other: I chose this course because Life Science has a lot of scope in Assam for getting a job in high school and higher secondary through Assam TET cum recruitment. The best thing is that it is relevant to CSIR NET and helpful for qualified candidates. More practical knowledge should be provided. Events, fests, etc., are regularly organised here.

Our college has some demerits, such as no student union and limited sports activities.
Placements: I do not know much about placements yet, but some students score good marks in JEE Mains. We do not get many placements on campus. I am in Instrumentation Engineering, and placements mainly come from companies like Oil India and refineries. I am still in the first year, so all subjects are currently combined.
Infrastructure: The hostel rooms are clean compared to other institutes, and there is no ragging. Most seniors are friendly. Wi-Fi is available, labs are well-maintained, and classrooms are clean. The library is also spacious enough for around 150 students at a time.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and guide us properly. Most faculty members are from IITs, which is good for students. Faculty from the CSE and MCD branches are more cooperative and helpful. The first and second semester exams are a bit difficult because the subjects are mixed.
Other: I got a leftover seat because I had low marks. I was on the waiting list. I want to improve my academics and study well. There are also two main fests on our campus.

Excellence everywhere, except the cramped classrooms.
Placements: It's very good for students who are placed in my course. The highest package in my location is approximately 5 LPA, the average is 2 LPA per annum, and the lowest package is 1 LPA to 7 LPA. I think 70-80 percent of students got internships. The recruiting companies are Agrotech and NGO. The role offered is a researcher.
Infrastructure: There is a lab but it's not a good lab and the lab is comparatively small for us. The library is good. The hostel is good. The cleanliness and mess are clean and good. Wi-Fi is there and annual sports are there. The best thing is NCC and discipline.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and gentle. The teaching quality is good and it is relevant. It makes us ready for the industry. Semester exams are not too much difficult. The pass percentage is good enough, and the exam is strictly conducted.
Other: First of all, I chose this course because I liked the subject and I think it's interesting and the medicinal portion of plants, their value, etc. The best thing about our course is that the IDC subjects are there, in case there is a chance to study different subjects from different streams. I still can't find anything in my course that should be better. Events, fests, etc., are good.

Satisfied, but improvement can be made. Hope for the best.
Placements: Above 80% got placed. The highest is around 12 LPA, the lowest is around 3 LPA, and the average is 6 LPA. TATA, L&T, Flipkart, and TCA are top recruiters. About 60% got internships in many companies like IOCL, HP, and TATA. Everything is very nice. You can easily join our college through JEE Main or our college exam.
Infrastructure: Everything is good. Our college is very nice. The food can be made better, but at least it is nice to eat and healthy. The library is the most beautiful part of our college and is the largest in the northeast, with many books available for study.
Faculty: The faculty are very good and well-qualified, and you can easily consult them whenever you want to. Many professors are present who will guide you, and many seniors are also there to help you with everything you need. So overall, it’s a nice college to get admission to.
Other: Many fests occur with the help of juniors, and all the mess food should be better. The campus should be renovated.

A dairy on the memory of Karimganj.
Placements: 50 students are placed in our course. The highest package of the course is 10 LPA, and the lowest package is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are soap and detergent, chemical companies, etc. Every year, 10 percent of all students get internships in chemical companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available for students. A good infrastructure lab with all the necessary and advanced materials is available, and books are provided for the student. All the facilities for the students in the hostel are available, including a swimming pool, canteen, etc.
Faculty: All the teachers are helpful and solve the students' problems. Most of the teachers have Ph.D. degree, and a few teachers have an M.Sc. degree. The curriculum is relevant to the course. An internship is available for good students and prepares them for a job. The exam is moderate. 40% is the passing percentage. Faculty of our department is good.
Other: I chose it because I liked the subject (chemistry). My teachers are very good. Increase the period, my wish. All the things in our college or campus are very good and well organised, like events, fest, campus, crowd, connectivity, campus scholarship, etc.

Gurucharan College is really good for science.
Placements: Gurucharan College has maintained a strong reputation for placements over the years. Each year, around 30 to 50 students from different departments secure jobs, with a large share coming from the Science stream, as the institution is especially recognised for its Science education in the Barak Valley, Assam. Recently, the college has been upgraded to Gurucharan University. Last year, various companies like Infosys, Bajaj, Joi, etc., recruited students from our college.
Infrastructure: All the facilities that are required to pursue college are available in your college. The classroom is very upgraded according to the modern classroom, all the facilities like digital board, projector, and a computer class are available. Other infrastructure like toilets, boys and girls common room and sport infrastructure, is also available.
Faculty: The faculty of our college is awesome. All the faculty are highly educated and they take regular classes, and all are very disciplined in their teaching professions. Our college takes unit tests every month and semester exams every 6 months. The exam is very tough for those students who do not study regularly, they can face very tough challenges.
Other: The college has recently upgraded to a university, and the students who get admission in 2025 to 2026 are all studying under Gurucharan University.

Assam University (Silchar) is a solid choice because it’s a central university, so the fees are way more affordable compared to private colleges. For the 2026 session, you're looking at a total expenditure of around ₹2.8 Lakhs for the full 4-year B. Pharm program.

First Year Total: Approximately ₹73,
