Candidates willing to take admission in MA in Education at Assam University should have a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in B.Ed. Examination or with at least 40% marks in honours course or 45% marks in UG degree in Arts, Science or Commerce are eligible for admission.
Assam University admission in MA in Education seats are filled up based on merit in the CUET-2023 to be conducted by NTA. However, up to a maximum of 50% of the seat shall be reserved for candidates who graduated from Assam University-affiliated colleges with lateral migration based on merit. Candidates without CUET score shall not be considered eligible for admission in the said course.
Assam University can be considered competitive as admission is based on the entrance exam scores. Courses such as BTech in Computer Science and Engineering are hard to get due to the high cutoff in JEE Main. For other courses, the university accepts the CUET UG exam. 50% of BTech seats are reserved for the permanent residents of Assam, and the remaining 50% are for All India candidates. However, admission also depends on academic performance and individual preference.

Assam University cutoff 2023 is based on JEE Main scores followed by the JoSAA Counselling. JEE Main Round 6 has been released for University admission to the BTech courses as a concluding round. As per Assam University JEE Main cutoff 2023, the Round 6 closing rank was 48929 for General category candidates in All India quota for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 47665 was the closing rank. BTech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.
Assam University accepts admission through various national-level, state-level & university-level entrance exams. CUET-UG is also one of those entrance exams that Assam University enrol candidates.
Students need to prepare well for the CUET-UG exam because only those candidates can register further for the admission process whose rank or scorecard will be within the range specified by the university, i.e. merit list, which will be released on Assam University's official website.

As per the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment guidelines, PwD candidates will be provided with following facilities:
- Scribe facility: In case the candidate has physical limitation and required a scribe for writing the exam, he/she must be certified in the format provided by CMO/Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care Institution.
- Extra time: PwD candidates will get extra time of one hour whether such candidates use scribe facilities or not.
