Nice campus, facilities, but weak academics, bad placements, and internal department politics.
Placements: I am a Physics IMsc final year student. Currently, the percentage is very low for placements. The lowest package is like 15k/month, and the highest is 80k/month. According to the information, Federal Bank, Tata, and some IT companies. Currently internship are done under not companies but from BARC, IGCAR, and other universities. The top roles offered are scientific officer jobs and going as Physics professors.
Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi, projector classrooms, and library are digitalized, and other characterization machines like XRD, FTIR, etc., there. We have a library separate inside the department, a seminar room for activities. The hostel is good, Wi-Fi is available, and the bathrooms are not so good but manageable. About the mess, it's somewhat bad. Medical facilities is top that, I can assure. When it comes to amenities, it's like 4.5/5.
Faculty: Teachers are indeed helpful and qualified, but don't think that they will spoon-feed you. Ofcourse the course curriculum is relevant, I can't say it's industry-ready because I didn't get that much practical touch from there. The difficulty is somewhat great for most of the papers, and the pass percentage for some papers is like only 60 percentage will pass, but in most case like 90% will pass.
Other: I choose because I want to be an astrophysics guy. The best thing about its like we can finish both B.Sc. and M.Sc. together, even if you have a backlog in B.Sc. doesn't hold you back from going to M.Sc. I wish the facilities were more student-friendly, and also, they are research-focused guys, so some may be poor in teaching also. The main events are like Onam, Pongal, and Utkal Divas. But if I have to rate for the overall number of events, I would go for 2/5, because it's too low there.

Good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: You will get placed by minimal companies, but the course and academics are very good. My seniors are placed in approximately 2 companies, and everyone got internship opportunities. Every person, starting from the second semester, gets credit for doing internships, field trips, and practical hands-on coding.
Infrastructure: The labs are plenty, and everyone has their own system to do their hands-on practical's. Library and classrooms are also very good. Wi-Fi is available in hostels, and every book is found in the library. The reading room is open 24/7, so you can go and read peacefully.
Faculty: Every lecturer is very qualified and can be relied on for any academic discussion and support. You get support from Ph.D. scholars too for guidance. Every mentor is supportive and guides through the internship applications and the overall course.

Faculty of this college is deeply knowledgeable.
Placements: Most students pursue higher studies after this course. Around 15 to 20% of students got job offers. Top recruiting companies were Akash, Byju's, TCS, Federal Bank, and many more. Around 55% of students started preparing for GATE and other Central Government PSC sectors. Many students also went for research.
Infrastructure: The college provided adequate facilities. Classrooms were clean, the library was present, and a good environment was available. Hostel rooms were decent. The college charged Rs. 2,000 per semester as hostel rent. The food was delicious and healthy.
Faculty: Faculty of the University of Tamil Nadu was very experienced. They were very knowledgeable in their subjects. The teaching quality of all teachers was appreciable. They explained all topics in a very easy way. Our college offered a 2-year programme for M.A., which included a diploma and post-graduation. Exams were quite easy. Most students passed the exams.
Other: Many types of clubs were present for students to join.

The placement and faculty members are very good.
Placements: The college gives an organized placement to students. All types of companies visit in college from many different backgrounds. The college gives full preparation for the placement drive and interview. The highest salary is 25 LPA, and the average salary is 11 LPA. Companies like HDFC Bank, Yes Bank, etc., frequently visit. Those companies hire most of the students.
Infrastructure: The hostel rooms are properly furnished and well-maintained. Students share rooms with each other. If students score good, then they have a chance to get a single room. The quality of the mess food is hygienic and tasty. The first year hostel fee is Rs. 1,500, and after 3 years it increases to Rs. 55,000 per semester.
Faculty: The faculty members have excellent qualifications, and the curriculum is relevant. All the teachers are always ready to solve students' problems, and mentors pay attention every time. The teaching method of the faculty members is great, and they cover the whole syllabus before the exam.

M.A. in Financial Economics - Batch of 2021
Offered by Madras School of Economics

5.0Placements5.0Infrastructure5.0Faculty5.0Crowd & Campus Life5.0Value for Money
Overall, it was the best college for the M.A. in Financial Economics course.
Placements: About 83% of students from our course got placement. The highest salary in our study was 22 LPA, the average package was 15 LPA, and the minimum package was 4 LPA. Top recruiting firms, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, and more, visited our campus for placements. About 70% of students from our course received internship opportunities. Roles such as Economists and Market Research Analysts were offered to the students.
Infrastructure: We had everything like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and departmental libraries. Facilities in our hostels, as well as the food in the mess and restaurants, hospital, sports, and games, were excellent. Facilities were provided not only to Tamil Nadu students but also to students from other states and countries.
Faculty: Professors of the college were highly skilled in their fields. They shared their knowledge and passion for the projects. Students were explore the subjects through practical lessons and field assignments. If students had adequate study skills and notes from faculty members, examinations were easier. The passing rate was 80%.

Most of the faculty members are reachable.
Placements: As it is the first batch (PGDM), the placement process has been as expected not too great but not that bad as well. Internship opportunities are huge for PGDM students. If you don't get in through the internship process, the faculty members will help you get into some companies through their contacts in the market. Stipends offered range from Rs. 10,000 pm to 1 LPA.
Infrastructure: There's only 1 boys hostel and 3 girls hostel as the population of girls is higher on this campus. The hostel provides very minimalistic facilities. You'll have to share common bathroom/washrooms. There are no AC and no washing machines but you can get your clothes cleaned by the "Akkas" who clean our rooms.
Faculty: The course structure is highly mathematical and I suggest any aspirants make sure your mathematical skills are up to mark. Having a basic understanding of programming languages and statistics can be very useful. It is a very rigorous course and you will have to put in a lot of effort.
