Chitkara University offers full-time BCA and BCA-MCA Integrated programmes. The BCA degree is a three-year course and the candidate have to pass Class 12 with a 50% aggregate. Here, students need to go through the final semester of the programme devoted to a project which can be carried out in the software industry or in the University itself.

University is recognized by the UGC and is accredited with NAAC A+, with a strong focus on industry.

Placements: In the BCA branch, around 80–90 percent of students got placed. The highest package was 15–20 LPA. The average was 4–6 LPA, and the lowest was 3–4 LPA. Recruiters included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and Cognizant. Many students secured internships. The roles offered included software developer, analyst, QA tester, and web developer.

Infrastructure: The BCA department had modern computer labs, smart classrooms, Wi-Fi, and a well-stocked library. Hostels were clean and secure with good amenities. The mess food was decent. Medical support was available. Sports facilities, gym, and playgrounds were well-maintained.

Faculty: Faculty members were qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable, with good teaching quality. The BCA curriculum was industry-oriented and included practical learning. Semester exams were moderately difficult. The pass percentage was generally high for regular students.

Other: I was happy after joining the campus. I would say everyone should visit once.

Good infrastructure and vibrant events, but placement opportunities are limited.

Placements: I am 2nd year BCA student at Chitkara University. Placement situations are average. Even 40% student of our department are not placed. Was part of the BCA 2023-26 batch. Placements are average. Only around 40-45% of students got placed. The highest package is around 5 LPA, the lowest is 2.8 LPA, and the average is about 4 LPA. Few got internships in small local companies, not big names.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good campus size is around 100 acres. Our department has decent Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, smart classrooms, and a good library. Hostel facilities are average, food in the mess and canteen is okay but not great. Basic medical facilities are available. Sports and games options are decent.

Faculty: Faculty members are not well. Focus on theory subjects, not practical subjects. Coding culture is also very bad. Faculty members are not very helpful or skilled. The focus is mostly on theory, with very little practical exposure. Coding culture is poor. The curriculum is outdated and not industry-ready. Semester exams are average in difficulty, and the pass rate is around 90-85%.

Other: This campus is not situated in Chandigarh. Chitkara University is in rajpura Punjab whom are 40km far away from Chandigarh.

Placements: Chitkara University achieves 90-95% placements in BCA with packages ranging from 3 LPA - 20 LPA. The average package varies between 5 LPA - 6 LPA. Top recruiters like TCS, Infosys, Deloitte, and Wipro offer roles such as software developer and data analyst. 80% of students secure internships at firms like Microsoft and Amazon.

Dissatisfied with the college. The worst nightmare one can ever have.

Placements: No good companies were coming for BCA in Chitkara. Call centres were approaching a one-room company with no reputation. My uncle is the CEO of a renowned company, and my mentor asked me to place some of the students there. There is no standard for companies coming here. My CGPA was 9.4, and I couldn't sit in the placements because no teaching companies were approaching. Many companies, like Amazon, have also blacklisted Chitkara because of its poor management and level of teaching.

Infrastructure: As a hosteller, the food was awful. The wardens are too strict. It is like a jail where you are trapped and there is no way to go. It is an absolute waste of money, resources and time. The mentors are not at all helpful and only care about the attendance records.

Faculty: The teaching quality is poor. Only one or two teachers know what they are actually teaching. The rest just come, open their PowerPoints, recite them as if we can not read them, take attendance and go. There were no roadmaps provided or explained if a student wanted to pursue some language or career path. I don't recall the teachers even telling us which of the career paths we could choose. The only focus was on theory; please don't expect that you will get any practical knowledge from there.

Other: The only good thing about Chitkara is its beautiful campus, which is of no use when there are no placements.

It is a good university in terms of placements.

Placements: Almost 95% of students got placed with a good salary package. The highest salary package offered by Microsoft is 40 LPA. The average salary package offered is 15 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 7 LPA. Top product-based recruiting companies are Amazon and Microsoft, and service-based recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, etc. These companies visit our college every year. Almost 60% of students got internship offers in different startups and top MNCs like Cred, Cognizant, Accenture, etc. Top roles offered are SDE, software development engineer, data analyst, and quality assurance engineer.

Infrastructure: The campus provides all kinds of facilities like Wi-Fi, fully equipped labs, equipped computer labs, and clean classrooms. All facilities are available in each classroom. The infrastructure of our college is well-built and very good. The quality of facilities is very good in our hostel. The quality of the food in the mess and canteen is very hygienic. They provide different food items every day with good quality. Medical facilities are good. Our college has a rich playground for sports and games. All sports facilities are available in the sports room.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and well-knowledgeable. They are kind. Their teaching methods are very effective. The course is relevant and makes students industry-ready with a good future. The difficulty level of exams is average. You have to clear your concepts to pass exams easily. The pass percentage is 50% including practical exams.

Other: I opted for his course because it has high demand in the future, and I am also from a science background. Through this course, you can get remote jobs from foreign countries. All things are good in our college. Improvements are not needed in this course. Our college events like story writing competitions, poetry writing, short films, etc., and fests like Rhythm, Goonj, etc. The campus crowd is good. The connectivity is good. The campus surroundings are very good and beautiful. Our college provides many scholarships to students according to their eligibility. Our campus organises extracurricular activities like music, drama, dance, etc.

Our college offers low salary packages.

Placements: In the final semester, students are eligible for on-campus placements. Many companies like Amazon, Infosys, and Google visit our campus to hire students. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA and the average salary package offered is 2 LPA. Almost 70-80% of students get placed based on their performance. We do get internship opportunities in companies like TCL, etc., and a stipend is also provided.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the library is the best and we have access to all the updated books. Air-conditioners are available in classrooms. It also provides fans and projectors. Various sports activities like cricket, kho-kho, and basketball are conducted on campus.

Faculty: Faculty members in our college have an approachable attitude. They are very helpful regarding the doubts of students about academics or suggestions. All faculty members are Ph.D. scholars and they are knowledgeable in their respective fields. Term exams are conducted here. Semester exams are moderate.

Other: There are many fests and programs held on campus for students to participate in. Extracurricular activities like Bhangra are also conducted on campus.
