The National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and not a constituent unit of the University of Delhi. NIHFW offers Diploma/ Certificate courses, and admission is done normally based on application. Eligibility for the different courses varies, and admission to them is normally done based on an entrance examination/test/interview as applicable to the course concerned. Typically, this is not possible because the direct admission usually does not meet the requirements set by the admission or selection process. Instead, refer to the specific programme guidelines on the NIHFW official website

NIHFW mainly provides placement opportunities in public health, research, and policy segments. As a matter of fact, the annual salary packages vary with every other year, but the maximum salary package often ranges from INR 8 to INR12 Lacs per annum. The top recruiters are government agencies, international organizations like WHO, UNDP, and private sector firms operating in health research and policy consulting firms. Placement depends very much upon the candidate's special area of specialization, experience before joining the institute, and networking within the public health domain. The public health leadership and policy skills offered as a core knowledge impartation arena are given by NIHFW.
