Gujarat University Course Admission 2025: Eligibility, Application, Last Date to Apply

1. Application Process 

The application process consists of first filling out the online application form from the University's official website and paying the application fee.

2. Selection Rounds 

Students have to check what the eligibility criteria is for the course they want. For eg., MBA and PhD course require candidates to appear for an entrance exam, such as CMAT, whereas for UG diploma, BA, and BDes course, students are only needed to pass the merit criteria which is a certain percent of marks in Class 12. 

3. Counselling & Admission Confirmation

After completion of the selection rounds, aspirants are required to come for counselling and document verification. For MBA, ACPC Counselling is required. Shortlisted aspirants need to confirm their seat by paying the fee.

Yes, admissions at Gujarat University are based on both merit as well as entrance. The university accepts admission based on the marks in Class 12 board exams, followed by the GCAS Counselling process. CMAT 2025 was on January 25, 2025, almost four months ahead of previous years. The CMAT exam is usually held in March-April, but in 2023 and 2024, it was held in May. The last time CMAT was held in January was in 2019.

The NTA announced registration dates via an official circular, which was released online on the NTA website on November 14, 2024. The CMAT 2025 exam schedule includes registration window open and close dates and form correction dates. CMAT 2025 registration has started, and the last date to apply was December 13, 2024, and the admit card was released on January 20, 2025.

The eligibility criteria for admission to all the undergraduate and postgraduate programme is different at Gujarat University. As per the basic eligibility criteria for admission to UG programmes, the candidates must have qualified class 12 or equivalent exam with a minimum of fifty percent aggregate.

While for Gujarat University admission to PG programmes candidates must have completed graduation with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate in the relevant discipline.

Gujarat University provides scholarships to the lower backward class or SC/ ST for better education and financial support. More than 30 scholarship schemes initiated by the Government of Gujarat are covered by Gujarat University. For developing high-quality research Government of Gujarat has initated a scheme called SHODH (scheme of developing high-quality research ) to offer  financial assistance to students doing qualitative research. Under this scheme, more than 1000 full-time research scholars awarded INR 15,000 per month and INR 20,000 contingency expense P.A. in the last five years. 

For improved education and financial support, Gujarat University gives scholarships to SC/ST students and members of the lower socially and economically privileged classes.
