Super Value For Money If You Don't Dreaming to Get Into Top Colleges.
Placements: I don't have much idea about the placement as the college started providing placement 2 to 3 years back. But it is worth considering the fees of the course. Recruiting companies include KPMG, Bank of America, etc. As far as the package is concerned, it ranges between 3 and 4 Lakh per annum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is pretty average, as it was established in 1936. The classrooms feel old, though all classes have central AC. The college has a massive cricket ground, canteen, basketball court, etc. As of now, the college doesn’t have any hostel facility, but there are many PGs located around the college. A big advantage is that there is a metro station just behind the college road (roughly about a 2–3 minute walking distance).
Faculty: The faculty is very nice, qualified and supportive. The college management is good. All exams are conducted on time, as scheduled by the college. Since the college is autonomous, students don’t have to go to other colleges to take their exams. The curriculum is not updated and is the same as in other colleges. There is a slight difference compared to other colleges because the curriculum is designed by the college faculty itself.
Other: The course is super value for money. I will definitely recommend it if someone is not targeting tier 1 colleges. Though the college is renowned for its heritage and years of establishment, it is the best autonomous college to pursue B.Com in Gujarat. College also provides self financed programs. Some events such as MUN, fest, competition are always going on and are managed by the alumni. The campus surroundings are very good as the entire area (Navrangpura) where the college is located, is filled with renowned colleges such as GLS University, Sr. Xavier's College, Gujarat University, etc.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Batch of 2022

Everything is fine except placements. Helpful faculty, good infrastructure, lack of exposure.
Placements: This college, being one of the top institutes for management studies under Gujarat University. It is naturally set high expectations for placements. The actual placement outcomes were quite average. Most students got offers in the range of 4–5 LPA, and in some cases, even lower. I earned Rs. 25,000 per month, so in terms of return on investment, placements arena was not very strong. Although the placement cell was active and supportive, the number of visiting companies remained limited. Additionally, academic performance played a major role in both placements and internships. It made opportunities harder to access for some students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was quite good overall, with a decent campus and clean classrooms. However, there were a few major limitations. The college did not provide hostel facilities. Most students were from Ahmedabad only. Those who did not live in PGs (mostly Rs. 7,000–Rs. 8,000 per month) stayed in shared flats (5–6 students per flat), and a few lived in the government hostel called Samras Hostel. There was no Wi-Fi access for students. Wi-Fi was only for administrative use. The institute did not have its own library. Students could, however, access the Gujarat University library.
Faculty: The best part of this college was faculty. Most professors were knowledgeable. They were approachable and supportive. They guide students not only in academics but also personally. They help with internships and clarify complex concepts with patience. Their humanity and willingness to help made the environment feel almost like a family. The major drawback lay in the curriculum. It felt outdated and not aligned with current industry needs. Many subjects still focus on theoretical concepts rather than practical and market relevant skills. This limited how well-prepared students were for the competitive business environment.
Other: To be honest, I joined this college because my CAT percentile was not very high. It was the best available options. I started with the hope of securing a decent placement after completing my MBA, but that expectation was not met. My two years at the college were overall good and full of learning experiences. The placement outcomes were disappointing. After completing my MBA, I did not receive the kind of opportunities I had anticipated, which affected my career trajectory. One drawback was the assignments, which were mostly practical and theory-based.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) - Batch of 2020
Offered by Som-Lalit Institute of Business Administration

Faculty is helpful and knowledgeable, fees are reasonable, and attendance rules flexible.
Placements: It is one of the weaknesses of this college. In the name of placement, they provide nothing. No placement cell or any placement activity. Most students have to find opportunities by themselves only. Half of the students opt for higher studies, and that’s what I did after my Bachelors. Few companies, which you can count on fingers, in the name of placement, hire students at 2 LPA–3 LPA offers in a city like Ahmedabad. Don’t ever join this college for the sake of placement. Only 60 to 70 percent of students got placed during the placement season.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility provided by the college itself. Most of the students are from Ahmedabad only, and those who are not live in PGs (mostly ₹7K–8K per month) and others in shared flats (5–6 students per flat). A few live in the government hostel called "Samras Hostel," but it is merit-based and only toppers of the batch or school can live there. There is no canteen in the college itself, but there are many cafes in the university area. There is a great big university library nearby which students can use. There are no outdoor sports facilities available in the college.
Faculty: The only good thing about this college is the faculty. They are very helpful, and if you ask your doubts politely, they explain everything without getting frustrated. Most of them are knowledgeable, with some being Ph.D. holders and well qualified, though a few new staff members are not as experienced. Semester exams are mostly easy to pass, with many students studying just one night before the exam. However, scoring above a 9 GPA is quite difficult. The main problem lies in the course curriculum itself, which is not relevant, I feel.
Other: The reason I chose this college was simply because it is the second best college in Gujarat University and fees are also affordable because you get scholarships from the government. One drawback is the assignments, they are mostly practical and purely theory-based, so most students end up copying from each other. I would definitely want to see improvement in this area. There is also no real campus life here, which is a huge setback for some students.

MBA in Maritime Management - Batch of 2018

Good faculty, placements are amazing in 2018. Really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: 80 percent of students got placed. The highest package is 6 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average is 4.5 LPA. Recruiting companies are Amazon, Sharekhan, HDFC Bank, Bandhan Bank, and Polycab. 70 percent of students got internships at Sharekhan, HDFC Bank, Bandhan Bank, Polycab, HNG, and Axis Bank. Roles offered are manager, assistant manager, production manager, superior, credit manager, and relationship manager.
Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi, classrooms, library, and sports ground are available. The college hostel is so good, and the mess is superb. All the sports and games grounds are also very good. The gym is also there. Tournaments in college classes and cricket tournaments are also held for college.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Exams are very hard. 50 percent is the passing percentage. Practical knowledge should be more than theoretical knowledge.
Other: I chose an MBA with finance, which helps me with my banking job. All types of activities are good. Annual events and fresher party are conducted. The college annual function should be more fun, and the freshers party should be arranged at a good place, and other functions should also be clear. All the minor things should change.

The Glorious HL with its wonderful activities.
Placements: Many companies come here for placements. It has the highest placement package available to B.Com freshers in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Many students also get pre-placement support from the companies, such as KPMG, Godrej & Boyce, and many CPA CA firms.
Infrastructure: On the infrastructure front, we have all things covered, like the sports ground to the library, fountain to the garden, basketball court to professionalism, and many infrastructure pieces supporting many activities. Many activities are also arranged in the seminar hall, which is huge.
Faculty: HL is the top college of Ahmedabad for commerce studies. It has a reputation for the best faculty members and knowledgeable associate professors. The pass percentage is around the highest in Gujarat, around 4 out of 10 CGPA. The exam procedure is also very smooth.
Other: HLCC MUN & college days are the best.

It is an average commerce college.
Placements: The percentage of passing is regular, like 80%, and more students pass and are admitted to the college. In HLCC, the best thing is that its placement is around 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is the best in terms of other colleges; you can see other college facilities are always less than HLCC. Good lies for infrastructure for a college: "Modern infrastructure empowers students with cutting-edge learning experiences." "Robust college infrastructure bridges the gap between theory and practical application. State-of-the-art facilities foster innovation and academic excellence."
Faculty: An HL college teacher or instructor would be teaching subjects at a higher level. Characteristics of HL faculty: HL teachers are experts in their subject area. They teach with a focus on depth, critical thinking, and analysis. HL teachers encourage students to engage deeply with the subject matter.
Other: Our batch is 2025-2027; in this batch, students are very friendly and good at communication.
