Himachal Pradesh University offers B.Ed course for a minimum duration of two years and maximum of three-years. The university offers B.Ed in campus and through 76 affiliated colleges at the PG level. The two-year B.Ed programme is spread across four semesters. Some of the HPU affiliated colleges offering B.Ed are:

- Aspirants need to complete bachelor's degree (Medical/ Non-Medical/ Commerce/ Arts) or master's degree in Science/ Social Sciences/ Humanities/ Commerce or bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics with at least 55% aggregate or 5.51 CGPA or Grade B+ (45% aggregate or 4.51 CGPA for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically Handicapped candidates) to apply for B.Ed course.
- SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically Handicapped aspirants can also apply with 50% or 5.01 CGPA or Grade B in bachelor's in Engineering or Technology.

HPU Management Aptitude Test (HPU MAT) 2026 registrations will commence in second week of April 2026. Candidates interested in admission to MBA programme of Himachal Pradesh University must fill the online application form on or before the last date. The HPU MAT application form can be filled in online mode only. HPU will commence the HPU MAT 2026 registrations soon after the release of notification. Candidates must ensure to fulfill the prescribed eligbility criteria before filling the application form. To complete the HPU MAT 2026 registrations candidates must ensure to pay the HPU MAT application fee of INR 1000. The application fee can be paid in online mode only.

HPU B.Ed Admission Dates 2025

HPU B.Ed Admission Process 2025: How to Apply?
HPU admission process starts with registration. The university conducts an entrance exam to shortlist candidates for B.Ed admission. Below is step-wise admission details for HPU B.Ed programme:
STEP 1: HPU B.Ed Application Process 2025
The mode of application is online for HPU. Candidates need to pay an application fee of INR 1,100 for entrance exam (INR 550 for SC/ ST and their sub-category (BPL/ IRDP). Below are the steps to apply for HPU B.Ed admission:
Step 1.1: Visit the official website- admissions.hpushimla.in
Step 1.2: Click on the registration link available on the Home page.
Step 1.3: Pop-up will appear to display the terms and conditions for entrance exam
Step 1.4: Read the instructions carefully and accept the terms and conditions
Step 1.5: Screen will now be redirected to the application form.
Step 1.6: Fill out the application form and upload the specified documents.
Step 1.7: Pay the application fee and submit the form.
STEP 2: Entrance Exam
Himachal Pradesh University conducts an entrance exam for B.Ed admission. It is an MCQ entrance test of two hour duration. The paper includes 150 MCQ questions of one mark each. The minimum qualifying marks in the entrance test is 35% (53 out of 150). There is 5% relaxation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically Handicapped candidates.
STEP 3: Result & Merit List
The university releases the entrance exam result on the official website of HPU. Himachal Pradesh University will also prepare combined and category-wise merit list based on score of the candidates in the entrance exam. In case of similar score, tie-breaking policy will be used.
STEP 4: Counselling & Admission Confirmation
After the declaration of the merit list, the counselling schedule is released. Selected candidates are required to participate in the counselling process. There will be centralised counselling system to allot the available seats in various colleges of education to the candidates through online counselling by the Counselling Committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. The allotment of seats will be made based on merit in the Entrance Test. Aspirants need to pay the programme fee to confirm their seat in the university.
