HPU admission to BA programme is based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Once candidates register for the BA programme, HPU releases the merit list on the official website of the university. The merit list is prepared based on the marks of candidates in the qualifying exam.

Aspirants with their names in the merit list and required to confirm their admission by paying the course fee. Against the release of every merit list, selected candidates need to confirm their admission.

Yes, HPU is good for B.Ed. The admission shall be made on the basis of Academic Merit. The applicant should be a teacher possessing Graduation/Post Graduation Degree with 55% (50% marks in case of SC/ST) with two years teaching experience in a Government or Government recognised school located in the territorial jurisdiction of the University and within the State of Himachal Pradesh. The eligibility conditions are and shall be the same as prescribed by the NCTE/any other competent authority from time to time.

Himachal Pradesh University Cutoff 2024 has been concluded for admission to the MD courses, on the basis of candidates' performance in the NEET PG exam. As per the NEET PG exam cutoff list, the cutoff ranks for various MD courses closed at a range of 493 and 70375, for the General All India category candidates. Yes, HPU offers three-year BA at the UG level through Department of Evening Studies. The BA programme is divided into six semesters. Besides, the university also offers three-year BA and BA (Hons) courses through more than 150 affiliated colleges. HPU also offers BA programme in distance education mode through International Centre for Distance Education and Open Learning. Candidates should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam in four written subjects (including English) with at least 33% aggregate to apply for HPU BA programme.

Candidates planning to apply for HPU MBA programme must complete their graduation. Below is the detailed eligibility for Himachal Pradesh University MBA course:

• Candidates who have passed bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST candidates) can apply for MBA .
• Candidates appearing for their final year exam of bachelor's degree can also appear in HPU MAT, but the final selection is subject to satisfying the eligibility condition.
• Except for Non-subsidised, serving or retired defence personnel, the maximum age limit is 26 years for boys and 28 years for girls (29 years in case of SC/ST candidates both for ST boys and girls) as on July 1 of the year concerned.

Yes, candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 to apply for HPU BA programme. Below is detailed eligibility:

• Candidates need to pass Class 12 or an equivalent exam in four written subjects (including English) with at least 33% aggregate or,
• Candidates seeking admission to BA with Mathematics as one of the subjects of study, should have either 45% marks in aggregate or 45% aggregate in Mathematics at Class 12.
• Aspirants who have completed pre-university examination (two years) or an examination recognised equivalent thereto (pass in four subjects, one language and three elective subjects) with 33% aggregate can apply.
• Candidates who have passed any examination of a University/ Board/ College or School in a foreign country recognised as equivalent with at least 33% aggregate or BA/ BSc/ BCom Part-I of the old three-year degree course can also apply.
• Aspirants who have completed Class 12 examination (academic stream) conducted by the HP Board of School Education (or in case of Shastri, pass in Prak Shastri from Sanskrit Colleges affiliated to the HPU) or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the various bodies of the HP University can also apply.

Th HPU NEET MDS Cutoff 2025 was released for all categories under the All India quota. For the OBC AI quota, the closing cutoff ranged from 333 to 524 in the last round. Among all the MDS course specialisations, the hardest was MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with a cutoff rank of 333 for this category. In 2024, the cutoff rank for this course was 462, meaning that the competition has now increased for 2025.

Yes, HPU offers BTech/ BTech (Hons) Lateral Entry for three-years. Aspirants can apply for lateral entry in Information Technology, CSE, ECE, etc. Aspirants who have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with other elective subjects with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) can apply for BTech (LE).

The HPU NEET MDS Cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to MDS course via the NEET MDS entrance examination for all rounds and categories for the students belonging to the All India quota. For the General AI category, 290 was the closing cutoff rank in the last round for MDS in Conservative Dentistry course. Please note that the cutoff differs for each course, round, and category. 

Himachal Pradesh University offers scholarships to BCom students based on Economically backward category of students who belong to categories such as BPL for continuing their higher education.
