You are not allowed to start medical stores or pharmacies with only a *Post Graduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sales and Management (PGDPSM)* by IGNOU. The qualifications one will be able to legally open and run his/her medical store/pharmacy in India shall meet the following criteria:# Qualifying Criteria to Open the Pharmacy: 1. *Qualification:*Pharmacy Degree:Opening up a medical shop should have the Diploma in pharmacy (D.Pharm) or *bachelor of pharmacy (B.Pharm)* from any known college. The Post Graduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sales and Management is a bit more sales, marketing, and management-oriented; hence, that person cannot open up their own pharmacy.2. License:Permission from the State Pharmacy Council is required to begin and run the medical shop.3. Other RequirementsRegistration from the Shop Act, accommodation need and other permits may start with a medical store business, but what is achieved after completion of PGDPSM? A postgraduate Diploma in pharmaceutical sales and management lets one go to pharmaceutical marketing, sales, management, and distribution. It is not on direct pharmacy operation; working in a pharmaceutical company in sales and supply chain management would be within its opportunities. In a nutshell, to start up a pharmacy, you have to start off with the D. Pharm or B. Pharm qualification or something along those lines.
