IGKV is one of the top colleges of CG.
Placements: Everyone has entered college through competitive exams from rank 1st to 500th. The highest package is in crores and the lowest is in thousands. Mostly, students get government jobs. 50-60% of students get placed. Roles like professors, scientists, researchers, etc., are offered.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in every wing. There are classrooms with a projector and a big library. The quality of the food in the mess is eatable. The canteen is excellent. There is a dispensary within walking distance and a big sports complex. This campus also has 3 auditoriums for extracurricular activities.
Faculty: Teaching quality is average for some professors. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. The exam difficulty level is moderate. The passing mark for each subject is above 35. Since it is a main campus, the exam level is not easy.
Other: I chose this course because my stream is Agriculture. The best thing is that it is teaching so many new things. Nothing should be improved. Internal college competitions (Madai), an annual function, Krishi Mela, etc., are conducted. Our college invites farmers and provides them with basic knowledge.

There are not as many placements in IGC anymore as there used to be.
Placements: IGKV had a placement cell that helped students find jobs in government and private companies. The college offers placements in the agriculture sector including seed and fertilizer companies, agro-based companies and more. Placement companies were Tokita Pvt. Ltd, Syzenta Pvt. Ltd, Bayer Pvt. Ltd and Byer Pvt. Ltd. The salary package offered ranges from 2 LPA to 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: IGKV had a good infrastructure, including hostels, a library, and a canteen. Campus was also equipped with sports facilities and a dispensary. IGKV had two hostel buildings, one for girls and one for boys. Campus was developed to accommodate more hostels. Students could apply for hostel rooms through the DSW office.
Faculty: They offered variety of programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. degrees. The curriculum included courses like agronomy, horticulture, plant pathology, and more. IGKV also offers research opportunities and hands-on training. M.Sc. courses included agronomy, entomology, floriculture, forestry, fruit science, genetics, plant molecular biology plant pathology, plant physiology, soil science, etc. Ph.D. courses included agricultural meteorology, agricultural microbiology, agricultural statistics, agricultural business management, agricultural economics, agricultural processing and food engineering, etc.
Other: Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) offered variety of scholarships and funding options. Some of these included National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation Scholarship for students with disabilities who were pursuing professional or technical courses. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship for Ph.D. scholars in the field of cooperation. Post-matric scholarship offered to those students who were from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other backward classes. Fellowship for Ph.D. was for students who were also receiving scholarships or fellowships from other organizations.

Good for studies and the loving people and teachers, but the food quality was so bad.
Placements: There is no percent criteria; we gave the exam of Pre-Agricultural Test for admission. Marks are not so important. The highest package was approximately 50 to 60 Lacs, and the lowest was 4 Lacs annually. Students with 7.5 CGPA got internships as food safety officers.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, sports, and games are available in college. The hostel rooms were nice, but the food was not so good at all. The mess was not clean, and the doors and windows of the hostel could be broken easily because they are of very low quality. Overall, it was good.
Faculty: The passing percentage for the college is 50% of marks in every subject, including the practical paper. The education was good but not so great. It helps you to find a job, but you can't think about a great package. Some teachers are good, but not all. Sometimes you observe a lack of knowledge.
Other: I'm studying in an IGKV-affiliated college. The name is CARS RAIGARH, and the college was good. The practical knowledge given there is great, but the food in the mess was so bad. The doors of the hostel are made using very low-quality wood.

This is a government college because the fees are low.
Placements: The facility for campus placement is not available. Some students are going to pursue a M.Sc., and others are preparing for government. Exams like RAEO, Forest Officer, etc. Sometimes campus placement is done by university authorities, and in campus placement, local companies are invited.
Infrastructure: Labs, practical equipment, Wi-Fi, a digital board, and a library are available. We also have a canteen at our college. Facilities in our hostel are average. Broken doors, unhygienic toilets, low spaces, beds, and abandoned buildings are there. A water cooler and purifier are not available.
Faculty: All teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable, but some are very strict. Our final semester is dedicated to gaining practical knowledge. 50% is the passing mark, and the semester exam level is moderate. The exam security level is very high. A sheet barcode system is used to keep student IDs secret.
Other: I chose this course because it is trending and related with farming .

Review of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya.
Placements: About 30% of students got internship opportunities. We have a training period of 1 year. It is mandatory for 4th-year students.
Infrastructure: Our college provides the best infrastructure compared to other colleges. It has an excellent hostel facility. It provides 24X7 electricity, water, and Wi-Fi at an affordable rate. All classrooms are good. We have a good library. Our college provides good sports facilities.
Faculty: All teachers are sincere. They conduct classes regularly. They teach theoretical and practical classes. They complete the syllabus on time. They are excellent in their respective fields and are experienced. There are around 2 professors in each subject.
Other: There are around 120 students in our batch. This course helps you to learn about primitive as well as modern agriculture. Our college provides all agri-related subjects.

Review of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya.
Placements: Placements are high in modern fields like plant biotechnology and plant breeding, but not in others. Students with a CGPA of 8.5 get good placements, with an average salary package of 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are generally fertiliser and pesticide companies. They offer roles like sales executives.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is a bit outdated but maintained well with all facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, a garden, and research fields. Recently, the university has been investing in developing new college buildings and an auditorium. Hostel facilities are above average. Shivam Boys Hostel is well maintained. Old college buildings are converted into hostels to compensate for additional admissions. The mess and canteen are available. The food is average. The college has a dispensary open at a fixed time for medical emergencies. Sports facilities are excellent, with a gym and two large grounds. The college has Nehru Library for further studies and book references. Student Forum building for 24X7 studying is also present on the main campus.
Faculty: Few teachers are very helpful and have excellent knowledge in their respective fields, but it is not true for every teacher. Our course curriculum is mostly relevant but doesn't make students 100% industry-ready. Semester exams are not very tough, and more than 90% of students pass.
Other: I chose B.S. in Agriculture to take care of my family's business. The course could be improved by adding modern technology to the syllabus. Our college conducts excellent extracurricular activities like Agri Unifest, Agri Carnival, Madai, inter-college sports events, etc. Scholarships are regular for state students but not so in the case of ICAR students.
