Yes, IGNOU is a trusted and accredited distance education university. It is a central university which was established by an ACT of parliament in 1985. Therefore, a distance education degree from IGNOU is equivalent to a degree granted by any recognised university in India. Also, the degree from IGNOU University is acceptable and valid overseas and in foreign countries with ease. The reason behind this is IGNOU is a recognised university under the UGC and is a governmental university too. Adding further, an IGNOU degree is approved by DEC and AICTE as well.

Students who have applied for B.Ed, MBA or PB BSc Nursing must appear for the required entrance and check if they've qualified it. Canddiates wanting to enrol in MBA at IGNOU have to pay the required first year fee amount. The payable amount is prescribed by the open university. IGNOU MBA tuition fee ranges from INR 6,300 to INR 68,000. This fee amount is as per the official website/ sanctioning body. It is still subject to revision and hence, is indicative.

Each and every course offered by IGNOU equip students with knowledge and skill-set in the concerned field. The Open University provides PhD programmes in different areas of specialisation. IGNOU PhD course admission is done based on accepted exam scores, followed by an interview round. IGNOU results for PhD admission are out on the official website of the institute. Candidates who have at least 50% aggregate in the entrance test (45% aggregate in case of SC/ ST/ OBC (Non Creamy layers)/ Differently abled persons) are shortlisted for the interview subject to the maximum limit of five times of the available seats. The entrance test carries a weightage of 70% and 30% weightage is allocated to the interview/ viva.

There are certain subjects included in the IGNOU BCom in Corporate Affairs and Administration course, which have transfarable credit. Each of the subject has 8 credits attached to it. The courses included in the CS foundation course are English and Business Communication, Economics and Statistics, Financial Accounting, and Elements of Business Laws and Management. 

Candidates are selected based on their merits based on their marks in Class 10th, 12th board or even graduation for NTT courses in IGNOU.
