Think before you choose, must read this review first.
Placements: Placements are good, mainly depending on our skills. More skilled students have chances of getting placed. Almost 60% of students get placed. The highest package is around 9 LPA, and minimum is 1 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Paras Health, Bharat Petroleum, etc. Top roles offered are software engineer and web developed.
Infrastructure: Our college has good infrastructure. It has nice buildings but doesn't have digital boards in every class. Our college has good natural environment. A lot of canteens are available on the campus. Food quality is good both veg and non-veg. For sports, you can play cricket, basketball but don't have much indoor sports facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and teach nicely. They make us understand the subject very well. Curriculum is very relevant at par with NIT. Exams are not as tough as university conducts its exams itself. Pass percentage is almost very near to 80%.
Other: I chose this course because CSE is the future, AI, and other coding languages. We get huge placements in it as well. I wish there were more recruitment companies, better labs, and digital classrooms. A lot of fests happen like business fests, fashion fests, etc.

Review of Islamic University of Science and Technology.
Placements: Placements are not that good, but I can say they are average placements. But recently saw a little spike in placements. I don't know about the highest package, but recently, many students from the CS department got placed at good companies. All the students get internships.
Infrastructure: The hostel and infrastructure are very good. The hostels are new, fully furnished, and the food is also good. Classrooms are nicely furnished. For sports, they have two major grounds. Most importantly, they have a roomy library where students can go and study at any time.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and help students most of the time. The curriculum is also nice. Semester exams are a bit difficult, but we can say it's to the students' advantage. The curriculum makes students ready for future endeavors, as it mostly teaches practical things rather than theory.
Other: After NIT Srinagar, it is the best engineering college in Jammu and Kashmir.

The faculty and infrastructure are fine; however, the placements are not satisfying.
Placements: Hardly any students in my course were placed in my university. The placement rate is below 10%. However, after getting my degree, most of the students get placed off-campus. So, not really a bad deal. You can come to IUST and get placed off-campus. There are no on-campus placements whatsoever.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. The university is young and is growing rapidly. The classrooms are spacious, and the campus is quite huge with fields around. It has a lot of cafeterias and nice, spacious auditoriums; however, there is less scope for sports.
Faculty: The faculty is nice, with an excellent teaching style and excellent qualifications from reputed colleges, IITs, and NITs. The course curriculum is quite hectic, and you rarely get time for self-study. The semester exam papers are prepared by the teaching faculty and are checked by them too.
Other: The course I chose is well taught and given priority in my university. It would be better if they focused on making the students more industry-ready. The fests in our college are fine; however, there are hardly any clubs or student crowds.

Good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: 60-70% of my seniors are placed in various companies. Some have salary of 5 LPA - 6 LPA. 15 students (my seniors) got research internships in various IITs like IIT Guwahati, IIT Jodhpur. 30-35% of students got internships. You can get roles like power system engineer.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are top-notch. It has free access to Wi-Fi all over the campus (requires authorisation, daily 1GB limit). We have multiple labs with all the equipments. Classrooms are also good. There is a separate 4-floor building entirely for library (it's an open library, where even outside can study), it has countless books, reading room, research labs. Hostel building is good. A room is shared by 3 people (rooms are a little small), and quality of food served in mess is good. They have a clinic with an ambulance service for critical cases. Various sports are available.
Faculty: Teachers are great and qualified enough to be there. Their teaching quality is good (but not upto the mark). Course curriculum is relevant, but not sure about making the students industry-ready. Exam difficulty is average, and pass percentage is about 60-70%.
Other: They regularly organise events, fests ( like food fest, business fest), and they have multiple scholarship programs. The fee is Rs 36,000 for tuition, Rs 14,400 for bus fee per semester, Rs 14,000 for hostel fee, and Rs 10,000 for mess.

Limited exposure requires extra effort and developing over time.
Placements: Placements are average, but most secure jobs or higher studies. CSE is the best here after NIT Srinagar. IUST collaborates with IIT for internships. Companies like Amazon, IBM, and Wipro visit. The median package is 5.4 LPA. The highest salary is 7 LPA. One senior secured 65 LPA off-campus in 2024.
Infrastructure: It's decent and depends on how much you can adjust. Classrooms are spacious with Wi-Fi. The campus is beautiful, surrounded by mountains. There are canteens, cafes, stationery shops, medical facilities, and a well-equipped library. Hostels lack Wi-Fi, wardens are strict, and the mess food is above average.
Faculty: The CSE faculty members here are excellent. They are well-educated, knowledgeable, helpful, and great at delivering lectures. Most professors hold PhDs or M.Tech degrees. The semester exams are moderately difficult but manageable. Class notes are very important and sufficient for good CGPA. The pass percentage is around 85 percent. Internal assessment, assignments, and lab work also contribute to final grades. However, like most universities, self-learning and internships play a crucial role in getting top-tier placements. However, the exposure is somewhat limited, so students need to put in extra effort by seeking off-campus internships, competitive coding, and networking opportunities to stay ahead.
Other: Fests and departmental programs happen regularly. There are various clubs, though extracurricular activities are still developing. Managing them with studies can be tough since the university focuses more on lectures and academics.

Absolutely good for placements and a good environment for students. It is a value for money.
Placements: There are currently 63 students studying in my course batch. The previous batch of ours got the highest package of 26 LPA. The top recruiting company is Nestle. About 35 students got internships. The top roles offered are in FSSAI, food quality management officer, etc.
Infrastructure: The library is great. The classrooms of some courses are bad, and the washrooms are unclean. Wi-Fi is available 24x7. Labs are amazing and fully equipped with the latest instruments, equipment, and technology, and the staff is highly trained for the same. Students are encouraged to participate in using the equipment and are taught as per requirement.
Faculty: Teachers are good, however, there are some subjects whose staff and faculty are bad in temper. Some teachers are known for being rude and holding grudges against students, even if they haven't done major discipline or things along those lies. Assignments and projects are given, and mentors are helpful.
Other: The events and fests that the university hosts are amazing. Students enjoy the life in the university. Scholarships are also provided for those who are not able to pay for their studies and encouragement is given. Extracurricular activities are also arranged.
