IUST Awantipora accepts CUET UG scores for admission to its BSc courses (except in BSc in Nursing). The entrance exam is conducted by the NTA. Candidates seeking admission to BSc in Nursing at IUST have to stay updated on the admission schedule released by the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE).

In total, there are 180 Diploma seats at IUST Awantipora. These seats are equally divided among the three Diploma specialisations offered at the university.
