Bachelors of Physical Education (Jadavpur University)

Placements: The placement cell provides a few opportunities every year for many students with an average package. As Physical Education has become a major subject in schools, the students of B.P.Ed can sit for government exams like JNV, KVS, DSSB, DAV, EMRS, etc., for the post of TGT Physical Education.

Infrastructure: The campus area is 90 acres, and the infrastructure is also good, though the sports ground needs maintenance. Hostel facilities are available for all students in the Department of Physical Education, as it is a residential course. The monthly mess bill is around ₹1800/-. The rooms are well-maintained and have free internet service available.

Faculty: There are 8 faculty members in the department, along with more than 20 research scholars and around 6-8 guest lecturers. Out of the 8 faculty members, 4 are Professors, 1 is an Associate Professor, and 3 are Assistant Professors, all having an exceptional background in their field of specialization. The teaching quality is much better than most of the universities and colleges in the whole of West Bengal. The curriculum is well-framed and relevant. There are a total of 4 semesters, each comprising 8 papers, and it's easy to pass if you are regular in your classes.

Other: This course is very career-oriented, and it enables a student to explore multiple options in the field of sports and sports science. This university and this specific course need a well-maintained campus ground for the development of practical papers. Every year is full of various fests and programs, and the campus location is very convenient, as major transport facilities are easily available. The Jadavpur railway station is within walking distance, where local trains are easily accessible.
