B.Tech. (Electrical & Computer Engineering) - Batch of 2028
4.2

JMI: A central university in New Delhi.
Placements: My branch was introduced in the batch of 2024. So, as of now, it has no placement data, but it's an outcome-based combination of both electrical and computer engineering. Students will be going through placement in both branches, particularly in fields where knowledge from both fields is required. So, for the basic idea, electrical engineering graduates acquire from an average of 7 LPA to 20 LPA. The highest in computer engineering offered 6 LPA to 20 LPA, with 75% of students placed.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. Classrooms have AC for 2nd year students onwards, and the seats are good. Sometimes issues are faced that are resolved within a few days. Wi-Fi is available. FET library is working from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays. The central library in a block remains open from 9:00 AM-2:AM, except national holidays.
Faculty: Teachers are actually helpful. A few teachers are quite strict, but they help you pass exams. Marking is normal, not that strict. The course curriculum is 50% relevant. Labs make it relevant. They make students industry-ready. Semester exams are not very tough. If you keep studying and keep track of what's going on in class, along with proper assignments, you will come up with a good CGPA, and the passing criteria varies from subject to subject 33% to 40%.

B.Tech. (Electrical & Computer Engineering) - Batch of 2028

Very good faculty and very nice experience.
Placements: The Electrical and Computing branch started with my batch in 2024. It is a self-financed course but falls under the Electrical Engineering department. In 2024, around 37 to 43 students are placed. The highest package is about 18.56 LPA, the lowest is 3.46 LPA, and the average is 7.5 LPA. Around 60% of students are placed. Top companies include TCS, Accenture, Siemens, HCL, Optum, Zia Semiconductor, L&T, etc.
Infrastructure: There are six boys' hostels named F.R.K, A.P.J, B.R.A, A.M.K, Kelat, and S.R.K (Alma Iqbal is not available right now). The hostels and mess are very affordable, with hygienic and nutritious food. The engineering department has one big building with different sections for different departments. The library has AC and Wi-Fi connection.
Faculty: The Electrical Engineering department has very good and experienced professors. Our branch is self-financed, so the study covers both electrical core and software, benefiting from both the Computer and Electrical departments. Around 70% of students pass the exams because the exams are not very hard. There is one end semester and two midterm exams.

Good faculty, but 2024 was not a good year for engineering.
Placements: The highest package in 2024–25 in Electrical Engineering is 18.56 LPA in Optum. The lowest is 3.46 LPA in TCS Ninja, with an average of 7 LPA. Around 40 students are placed in 2024–25. Top companies like TCS, JSW, Optum, Zia Semiconductor, L&T, etc., visit the campus. Around 25–30 students get internships on campus, and around 80% of students get internships off campus. So overall, it is not a good year for Electrical Engineering in terms of placements.
Infrastructure: All five departments, Computer, Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil, have a common building. There is one separate building for the library and reading room, fully air-conditioned with centralized Wi-Fi. Electrical Engineering classes have no AC. In Jamia, there are 7 boys' hostels and 3 girls' hostels. The mess is hygienic and very affordable. Hostel costs around Rs. 40,000 per year for mess and accommodation.
Faculty: Electrical Engineering has very experienced and knowledgeable professors. One professor, Ahteshamul Haq, is named among the top 2% of scientists in the world, and others are also very experienced. They help us anytime we need. The department conducts two session tests and one end-of-semester exam. Exams are easy.

B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science - Batch of 2028

Overall, everything is okay.
Placements: Students are not placed in this course because this field is for civil service and so many. No package offers in this course, maybe offered but I have no idea. I have no idea about this, or maybe randomly internships are offered with government political.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are good. Department is also good. Wi-Fi is good. Classrooms are not too much good. Library is excellent. The food quality is not too much good in mess. Canteen food is good. Medical facilities are free which is good. Sports and games are also good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and more educated from outside of India. They are qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. It depends on your semester exam, how much hard work you put into the semester exam. Internal exams are difficult. Pass percentage SCGPA is 4.5.
Other: It's best for me because of the civil service to choose an optional subject. Everything is organized on time.

Dissatisfied with placement but very good faculty.
Placements: There are a total of 5 departments in engineering, but civil is in the last position for things like placement and student priority. A total of 30 students were placed in 2024-25 in civil companies like L&T, Ambuja Cements, J.K. Laxmi, etc. All are in field jobs with an average salary of 5 LPA, the highest is 9 LPA, and the lowest is 2.9 LPA.
Infrastructure: The quality of mess food is good, especially in A.P.J. hostel and F.R.K. hostel. There are 3 girls' hostels and 6 or 7 boys' hostels, and there are many canteens in Jamia with affordable prices. Sports facilities are available, as well as a clinic. The engineering department has one building, and there is another building for the reading room and library.
Faculty: The civil engineering department has the most senior professors, and they are very knowledgeable and experienced faculty. They are strict teachers, but they help students with academic studies, and the difficulty level of exams is very low, allowing around 80% of students to pass.

2022 is the best year for electrical engineering.
Placements: In 2025, electrical placements are not good. Around 40 students are placed out of 78 students, and these 40 students are placed in Optum, TCS, Zia Semiconductor, JSW, L&T, etc. The lowest package is 3.45 LPA in TCS Ninja, and the average package in electrical engineering in 2024-25 is 7 LPA, while the highest is 18.56 LPA in Optum.
Infrastructure: The overall campus is good. The buildings are good, and the dentistry building is very nice, well-maintained, and well-designed. The engineering department has a personal library and reading room, and all 5 departments of engineering have a common building. There are a total of 6 boys' hostels and 3 girls' hostels. The mess is hygienic, and the food is decent at a reasonable price. Jamia has a sports complex and a free clinic for students.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. They teach us very well. However, some teachers are lazy and don't teach us with their hearts. In the engineering departments, all 5 departments take 2 sessional tests and 1 end-of-semester exam. We can easily pass the exams by studying before them, and approximately 70 students pass their exams.

Yes, Mathematics is a compulsory subject for JMI BTech admission. As BTech courses offered at this university are in the specialisations that require applicants to have a foundational understanding of the course. Thus, completing HSC with PCM is necessary for enrollment.

Students can get into JMI BA programme through CUET UG or JMI entrance test. Till 2021, admission was subject to the JMI entrance exam across all specialisations. However, starting 2022, admission to a few BA (Hons) specialisations was CUET-based and for the rest, it is still university-level entran
