JNU MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) offers full-time MTech courses. The two-year degree course is divided into four semesters. Admission to the offered MTech courses at JNU shall be through CUET-PG, conducted by NTA. Currently, the university is offering MTech in four specialisations.
Candidates seeking admission to an MTech programme in JNU must check the eligibility requirements before filling out the admission form. Jawaharlal Nehru University accepts CUET-UG and CUET-PG entrance test scores for admission to several undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate and PG Diploma courses. The University also accepts a few national-level entrance exam scores for admission to courses such as BTech, MBA, etc. For admission to BA (Hons.) in Foreign Languages, BSc-MSc Integrated programme in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiency courses, JNU accepts CUET-UG scores.
- The registration window for CUET UG for Jawaharlal Nehru University admission UG courses usually open by February. Further, the CUET UG is held between May and June.
Admission to Jawaharlal Nehru University BA (Hons) in Foreign Languages, BSc-MSc Integrated Programme in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiencey (COP) courses is through CUET (UG). Only the aspirants with a valid score of CUET are eligible to take admission in these courses. Moreover, the application for the same has to be submitted by visiting the JNU admission portal.
JNU has not released its 2023 placements report as of now. However, considering the NIRF report 2023, PG 2-year candidates received placement offers in the JNU 2022 placements. As per the overall report, the median package offered to the selected candidates stood at INR 7.95 LPA. A marginal decline of nearly 1% can be seen in the PG 2-year median package offered in 2022 as compared with 2021. Moreover, many top companies recruit JNU graduates every year. JNU MTech Admission 2025: How to Apply?
The admission to the course is entrance-based. JNU course admission is a multiple procedure that involves registration, selection, and seat allotment. Mentioned below are the JNU MTech admission process:
STEP 1: JNU MTech Application Process 2025
Candidates need to apply online for admission to an MTech course at JNU. The step-wise JNU MTech application process is explained below for admission to the MTech programme:
Step 1: Visit the official website of NTA (nta.ac.in).
Step 2: Click on the 'Admission' tab and fill out all the mandatory details.
Step 3: Fill in the personal and academic details.
Step 4: Upload the scanned photograph and signature in the given dimensions.
Step 5: Pay the application fee and click on ‘Submit’.

STEP 2: Selection Rounds
Candidates are shortlisted based on the respective entrance exam scores - CUET-PG. These shortlisted candidates are then required to take part in the selection rounds, such as group discussions and personal interview rounds, after which a final list is released.
STEP 3: Counselling
The selected candidates have to participate in the JNU counselling for course admission. During the counselling, verification and seat allotment is carried out.
