The old but vibrant campus of JNU may not offer placements, but the name JNU matters.
Placements: There is no any specific placement cell at Jawaharlal Nehru University. Students have to look for job opportunities on their own. If you are the top 10 students in the class, you can earn around Rs. 50,000 per month through freelancing and teaching. If you complete your Master's and Ph.D. in the same language from Jawaharlal Nehru University, you can join many universities as an assistant professor. If you clear the A2 level of Spanish and IELTS, you can go to Spain through the Language Immersion programme for 9 months and work there as a part-time English teacher.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of JNU is great, but the vibrant campus makes up for it. Wi-Fi facility is available everywhere on the campus. Classrooms are not that great, but the fantastic professors make up for it. The library is open 24/7 with great facilities. The mess food and canteen food are both healthy, tasty, and budget-friendly. Free medical help is available at the JNU health center. A proper gym and sports ground are available.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They teach you in a manner that only if you attend classes properly, you'll score good marks. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students to be industry-ready. The semester exams are easy to pass if you attend lectures regularly. 90-95% of students pass the semester exam.
Other: I chose this course as I want to explore something new and the JNU tag obviously. The foreign exchange programme is about to start in our course, if it have been implemented earlier, it would have been a great help for students. When it comes to events, there are always some public talks going on campus. The campus crowd is amazing, and everyone is eager to help one another. There is an MCM Merit-cum-Means scholarship, under which, if your family income is less than Rs. 2,00,000 per year, you'll get Rs. 2,000 per month. But no organized events happen on the campus.

JNU provides a satisfying environment.
Placements: There are many languages that are offered at JNU. There are not all languages have placements. Languages like Japanese, Korean, and Chinese provide good placements with a good package. But, languages like Persian and Pashto do not provide placements at all.
Infrastructure: The academic area is well maintained. Wi-Fi facility is installed in every building of the campus. There is a central library that accommodates over 1 lakh books. Hostels have poor infrastructure. Some of the new ones are good, but the condition of the old hostels is very poor.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and helpful. My course, Spanish, is really helpful as it opens wide job opportunities for me in the world. The semester exams are a bit difficult, but a regular learner will find them easy. A student requires a 3/9 CGPA to pass the semester.

If one has no option, then come to this college.
Placements: It is my first year but I know seniors who got placements last year with salary package of 10 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 33 LPA, but it was an off-campus placement. I also know a second-year student who is doing an internship at MNIT Jaipur and has received offers for an internship from IIT Delhi.
Infrastructure: The course and hostel infrastructure available here are very bad because there is no building for classes on this campus. We have been living in a dormitory for four months and have not been assigned a hostel. New hostels and buildings for engineering students are under construction.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful but others are not. Teachers have very little experience but their qualifications are good, though not 100%. Semester exam level is normal and some teachers give questions directly from notes. Pass percentage is approximately 85.
Other: I want to share that if one really wants to do computer science, try not to come to this college. If one has no option, then one can come.

B.A. (Hons.) in French - Batch of 2028

Good infrastructure, a good environment, and the best faculty members.
Placements: Placements percentage is around 90-95% in the French language. There is no campus placement at JNU, but the quality of education is excellent. In language, you can definitely work as an interpreter in MNCs. The top recruiting companies are Amazon, Google, and many more. The top roles like you can also work in RAW, ISRO, and HAL, as an interpreter.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Wi-Fi, labs, and classrooms everything is fine. The hostel infrastructure needs some renovation, but it is still good. The food quality is also affordable and healthy. There is a stadium accessible to everyone, and there is also a badminton court in every hostel.
Faculty: Professors are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and have a lot of teaching experience. They have a student-friendly curriculum, and if you study well, the semester exams are easier for you. The passing CGPA is around 2, but it varies from year to year. The ecosystem is education-friendly.
Other: In the French language, there is having lot of scope worldwide. It is also the 4th largest spoken language in the world. It is quite similar to English, so it is easier to learn. For the sake of campus events, there are public talks 2-3 times a week. There are provisions for scholarships, and also a lot of extracurricular activities to do.

B.A. (Hons.) in Pashto - Batch of 2028

My college life at JNU as a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) student.
Placements: 25 students get placements out of 30 in our course. The highest package that students receive is Rs. 80,000, and the lowest is Rs. 50,000. There are some famous embassies that recruit them. At most, 80% get the internship as they maintain their curriculum, including translation, radio, and professors.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. We even have a barrack, which is recently built as a new building for students, with new facilities and accommodation. There is Wi-Fi in every hostel and even in academic blocks. There is a canteen in every academic block, and the library is close to the academic blocks, so it is easy for everyone to go and study there. The library offers a wide variety of books for students. The quality of food and infrastructure is well maintained. There are various sports played, and many competitions are there for students' betterment.
Faculty: The staff and the curriculum for these students are really good and up to mark, as professors help students whenever needed. Even though the curriculum has now been extended, and so has the degree still, professors help in every possible and make it easy for students to learn things easily.
Other: I want to learn a new language that is unique. My batch is very friendly and active. We participate in various activities and work collectively. We even celebrate Women’s Day together, and fresher’s event is also well-organized by our seniors, which helps us a lot.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2024

The course of ECE is not good but very beautiful campus with a great engaging and good campus life.
Placements: For the B.Tech in ECE course, our school never provided any placements. A few ECE batch students were placed as Software Engineers, which they did by themselves. The highest package offered in our batch was 6.5 LPA. Amdocs took most of students from the School of Engineering, while other companies rarely placed anyone in the ECE batch. Very rarely any ECE students did any internships, and those who did were usually software engineering interns, they went out off-campus for that. For our course, no roles were offered. Most of students went For GATE/NET or government job preparations.
Infrastructure: We had a building in tin shade, where classes used to be run. A new building is now under construction for the School of Engineering. Classrooms were beautiful and well prepared with all facilities, from AC to microphones and projectors, etc. Hostels were very old, a few were clean and good and a few were very dirty with broken furniture and windows. The food quality was normal, neither very good nor very bad you can eat. The canteen and medical facilities were quite good, the canteen was up to 3 a.m., in the morning and free medicine and sports facilities were also good, and one student recently played in the Paralympics in Paris.
Faculty: A few faculty members were very highly knowledgeable, while others were very poor. All they could do was read PPTs in class and were unable to answer questions in class put up by students. I would rate the teaching 3.5–4/5. The course was totally relevant, except we never got industry experience in the school. Exams were moderately tough, except for exams of professors like Rakesh Patney, who used to fail 80–90% of students in his class. In other subjects, 80–85% of passed exams.
Other: I chose this course because I came from a poor family, and my parents were unable to afford high-fee institutions. JNU provided a fee rebate based on financial standards, and besides that, JNU is a brand in itself. The best thing about the ECE course was that it gave me a lot of free time, so can do things of my interest, prepare for exams, or build skills. plus, the JNU campus gives very good exposure to Indian politics. I wished faculty members had been more helpful and kind toward students, as they were very rude. Fests, events, and extracurricular activities were happening at that time.
