B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2014

This is the West Rajasthan deemed private university.
Placements: In my college, there are no placements in my batch and another batch. My seniors had no placements on the campus. In 2011, there are placements, and after that, there are no placements. After 2012, not even a single company visited the campus for the placements. This is not only the problem of my college but also in almost all the colleges in India.
Infrastructure: Jodhpur National University infrastructure is average. There is no proper branch building. There are three to four branches in one building. In the laboratory, all the equipment is not available. This university is located outside the city, and the transportation system is not good. The hostel management is poor, and they provide low quality food.
Faculty: Some faculty members are good, but some are not knowledgeable about their subject. The university gives more preference to the relatives. They recruit their relatives as the faculty members but do not consider their knowledge. The course curriculum is according to RTU, Kotak.

Other: After securing 27,000 rank in AIEEE 2010 (a decent rank in general category), I was supposed to get a good college, the website of college was also good, covering almost all the top recruiters in its placement (but in 4 years of my college life I never encountered a single MNC in our college which would have come for placements, even there was a news that HCL had blacklisted our college). The buildings are quite good looking but they lack modern facilities, even the labs give a feeling that you are in 1940s. But if anyone wants just a degree to show then this is the best college/university to enroll. You needn't have to worry about attendance; I myself never crossed 40% attendance in any of the semesters, yet was never detained because the college administration itself knows that they don't have quality lecturers to attract students toward classrooms. There was also news that the chairman Kamal Mehta was put behind the bars for distributing fake degrees. So in short, I would request you all to not even think about getting admitted in this university or you will spoil your career.

Q:   Does BTech Civil Engineering syllabus focus more on theory or practical application?
A:

The BTech Civil Engineering syllabus focuses on both theoretical lectures as well as practical work.

With the help of lectures in the curriculum, theoretical concepts are introduced to students, tutorials provide space for solving problems and applications also.

And the labs offer hands-on experience to students who get acquainted with equipment and CAD software. Also, the field projects also allow students to apply their B Tech Civil Engg. skills and knowledge to design and implement communication systems.

Q:   Does the M.Tech Civil Engineering syllabus focus more on theory or practical application?
A:

The M.Tech Civil Engineering syllabus follows a more practical and industry-oriented approach, where students are given advanced-level understanding of Civil Engg. concepts with a focus on a particular area like Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, etc.

There are rigorous theory classes, case studies, field visits, and project work, all of which combined are expected to make the students job-ready for the future.

Q:   Is B.Tech syllabus similar for all colleges?
    A:

The BTech syllabus is not similar in all the Indian colleges. Talking about the first year of BTech, the general subjects taught are almost similar that include Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and other engineering fundamentals to provide a basic foundation for the BTech course ahead. Further, the BTech syllabus will differ on the basis of the specialisation you have chosen and the college, different colleges follow their own set of guidelines regarding the course curriculum that includes both core and elective subjects along with practical lab work.

    AskShikshaGPT on App
Q:   Are there any elective subjects in B.Tech course?
    A:

BTech courses do offer a variety of electives for you to opt for in the 5th and 6th semesters, where you get the chance to pick a specific subject that interests you more and is easy-going for you.
You can choose to pick a subject according to the specialised field within your broad BTech specialization, which you would like to enter into in the future, where you see yourself as a happy and well-established engineering professional. For example, in BTech Electrical Engineering, there are a variety of electives like Power Systems and Electronics, Signal Processing, Communication Systems Theory, VLSI Technology, etc.
