LNMU BTech admission is offered on the basis of candidate’s performance in the Combined Admission Test, conducted by the University. It is a 135 minutes test comprising 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The test comprises 50 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Shortlisted candidates are further called for counselling-cum-seat allotment round.

Lalit Narayan Mithila University offers BTech course across several specialisations. The university accepts students to its BTech programme based on their performance in the entrance exam conducted by the university. To be eligible to pursue LNMU BTech admission, candidates must have scored at least 45% in Class 12 with relevant subjects. Hence, a candidate scoring less than 60% is eligible to get admission at LNMU BTech course. However, as admissions are entrance-based, students are required to secure a valid score in the entrance exam. The  LNMU Bihar UGEAC Cutoff was released for admission to the BTech courses for various categories belonging to the Home State quota for the year 2024. For B.Tech. in Information Technology, the last round cutoff was 6294. For the B.Tech. in Bioinformatics programme, the cutoff was 5656, indicating that the Bioinformatics course is more popular among the two for the General HS category, because, the lower the rank, the higher the competition

The modes of Lalit Narayan Mithila University admission are offline and online. Admission to various undergraduate courses is based on merit and scores of entrance tests. At the undergraduate level, Lalit Narayan Mithila University offers a four-year BTech and various other courses to students. The total tuition fee for BTech is INR 1.7 lakh.

Seats are reserved for various categories, such as SC, ST, BC, EBC, Minority, PwD, Ex-servicemen, WBC, etc. The university also reserves seats for female candidates and permanent residents/natives of Bihar across the aforementioned categories. 

Students enrolled on all courses of LNMU are eligible to apply for various scholarships. The scholarships are provided to the UG students under the following three categories:
