Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University is a recognised public university. The university is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The National Medical Commission  (NMC) is a statutory body in India that regulates medical education, medical professionals, institutes, and research. MPMSU is also recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI), Directorate of Medical Education, Rehabilitation Council of India, and Indian Paramedical Council.

The faculty of Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University is highly qualified and experienced. A huge percentage of the faculty members are MBBS, MD and MBBS in their relevant fields. The remaining faculty is also highly qualified (MD, PhD) and experienced in their respective fields. The faculty at MPMSU functions with a mission to nurture well trained, ethical and competent doctors and provide excellent health care services.

Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University also known as Madhya Pradesh Ayurvigyan Vishwavidyalaya or MPMSU, is a Public Government University. It was established in 2011 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. It offers affiliation to all Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, and Yoga colleges in Madhya Pradesh. It offers various UG, PG, PhD, Diploma and Certificate courses in the stream of Medicine & Health Sciences and Nursing.
