After graduating from Himalayan Garhwal University, BSc graduates are eligible to take up various jobs in the government sector. They may have to apply and appear for the recruitment exams leading to these government jobs. A students pursuing BSc at the university commented that the highest and the lowest salary packages offered during MAHGU BSc placements were INR 5 LPA and INR 2.7 LPA, respectively.

31% of the total seats are reserved by MAHGU for students who are permanent residents of Uttarakhand. In addition to this, the university sets seats aside for those who are PWD (those with a minimum impairment of 40%) and SC/ST/OBC.
