MDU Rohtak Hostel Facilities 

The hostel facilities at MDU Rohtak are availble for students with all the necessary amenities, including Beds, Tables, Chairs, Lights, and Fans. MDU Rohtak offers 10 boys' hostels and 8 girls' hostels. With these 10 boys' hostels, over 1,966 rooms are availble for eligible candidates. Not all students qualify for hostel admission; they must meet the eligibility criteria established by the University. Students living within 40km of the university campus are not eligible for hostel facilities. The Chief Warden conducts room allotments after all required eligibility criteria are met. Within the hostel campus, 24/7 CCTV surveillance is in place for the safety and security of students. All hostels operate under the supervision of a Warden and a Chief Warden. MDU Rohtak hostel has a separate Mess committee consisting of the Warden, Hostel Supervisor, Mess Supervisor, and regular residents selected by the Warden. MDU Rohtak girls' hostel has additional facilities, including 24*7 guards along with 8 lady security guards availble within the hostel complex. MDU Rohtak Hostel Fees 

As per the 2024 brochure available on the official website of Maharshi Dayanand University, the total annual charge for the boys' hostel is INR 16,770. This total amount includes charges such as accommodation, water and electricity, establishment and common room fees, among others. For electrical appliances, including an air cooler, an iron, a room heater, and an electric kettle, students need to pay separate monthly charges as determined by the university. MDU Rohtak Library

Vivekananda Library is the main library of the University and is centrally located, making it easily accessible from all departments, institutes, hostels, and residential areas. With a floor area of 110,000 sq ft, the library has a capacity for 2,463 readers. It also features a reading room capable of accommodating 1,650 readers and is available for 27 hours. The library complex includes 13 scholars’ rooms and a committee room-cum-videoconferencing hall. Additionally, it has five satellite libraries: the Hotel & Tourism Library, IMSAR Library, Law Library, Math Library, and UIET Library, with an extra capacity of 428 seats. The library is managed by well-qualified staff responsible for maintaining discipline on the library campus.

MDU Rohtak library boasts a vast collection of 538,569 volumes, including print books, print journals, e-books, e-journals, and other reading materials. Refer to the table below for more details:

MDU Rohtak Sports Facilities 

To promote sports, MDU Rohtak has a dedicated sports complex that includes nearly all basic sports facilities. The University offers several sports options on campus, such as the Dr. Mangal Sen Multipurpose Gymnasium Hall with central A.C., the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Cricket Stadium of international standard, a synthetic athletics track, an international-standard swimming pool, lawn tennis courts, basketball courts, a wrestling hall, a kabaddi hall, a judo hall, and a squash hall. These are a few sports facilities available for the students of MDU Rohtak, which not only encourage physical health but also support students who aspire to pursue sports as a career option.

Since the campus of MDU Rohtak is located near Delhi Bypass Road, Rohtak, and is very well connected, students can explore numerous places nearby. Some places to visit in Rohtak include Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, dedicated to Sikh Guru Teg Bahadur. This spiritual site is located near Mata Darwaja Chowk in Rohtak.
